Chapter Part 18 Alrize POV

I look at my mate with worry, but with fear inside of me. I never seen him like this or had experience him act like this. I slowly approach him and knee down in front of him;

"You ok?" I ask him wiping his tears off his face.

He takes his sleeve and wipes is his eyes; "Yeah I'm fine...don't worry about me".

I grab his face with my hands bringing it up to my eye level.

"No you're not...you sitting here crying and your little breakdown downstairs is not the definition of being ok Aurlk" I say with a sweet, but strict tone.

His head is facing me, but he doesn't look at me avoiding my eyes; ~sniff~; "How much did you hear...from standing there?" he asks,

"Enough to connect some puzzle pieces together, but there's still some pieces missing".

He chuckles and I let his face go; "you and your stupid quotes"

I smile; "It fit the moment...Now come on..." I stand up and reach my hand towards him; "Let's get you cleaned up". He rests his head on his knees; "I'm going to sit here for a bit longer..." I squat down, "You sure?".

"Don't try to get me up!" He snarls at me with a sharp tone and glances at me, causing me to jump up he buries his face back in his knees; and he mumbles sorry under his breath. I lean down and kiss him on his head and walk off into the bathroom to take a shower.

POV Scarlet

"Scarlet are you sure about bringing both of your sons over is a good idea"?

I began skinning off the rabbit's fur to show its bare skin;

"Lydia you're really starting to piss me off by doubting my authority!" I growl at her while ripping the leg off the rabbit.

Lydia walks into my view leaning on the half wall behind the counter; "no, no, no, no! Of course not I would never question it.... she stands up from her leaning position; "but it's just knowing your two sons history and there-" I cut her off

"What makes you think I haven't taken that into consideration"...

I stab knife into the rabbit stomach and beginning slicing it open to remove it's guts; "Now then, Lydia be a doll and go downstairs and grab the buck from the freeze please"

She hesitates walking away, "Yes ma" she gets to the top of stairs before I call out to her; "And Lydia I don't like a kiss ass understand that" I glare at her and she nods her head; "Yes ma...won't happen again"

I grab hold of the rabbit's ears and dump it's guts into the pot full of boiling water, *Ring ring* I wipe my hands on my jeans and grab my cell phone out my pocket to answer;

"Yes?.....this is her...why are you calling me from a block number?...Asshole...Your still coming and you ARE bringing your MATE!...No debating about it either!...And I made your favorite too...see you tomorrow...Love you two"

I hang up the phone, and realize Lydia should be back now; "LYDIA WHAT IS TAKING YOU SO LONG!!" I yell;

"IT'S STUCK!!" She yells back

 I growl under my breath; "For F's sake why I get a such a damn use of a Beta!"

I turn the flame down on the stove and rush downstairs.

ARLIZE POV

I sit up against the headboard of the bed with my knees to my chest, watching Law and Order;

"Hey.."

I look over to the bedroom door to see Novato standing there;

"Oh I didn't hear you come in" I don't move from my position, but somehow I become more alert being near him; "You ok?" I look at confused; "I'm sorry?"

"Oh right I mean with Razer going off on you and your mate there..." I shrug; "I'm fine just a weird first impression I guess"

He smiles at me and walks towards sits on the bed; "You know I'm a lot more stable person then the so called "Alpha""

"What are you getting at?" I set a bit of annoyance in my voice and let out a low growl;

"Oooh hostile eh?.." He puts his hand on my knee; "You know I'm here if you want something a bit different and stable mentally wise".

I growl at him; "You must want to start your death wish pretty earlier for flirting with me right now..." I bare my wolf ears out in a lower position; He chuckles; "Oh darling you must be forgetting..."

He leans closer to me placing his hand around my throat tightly causing me to quickly reach up and grab hold of his hands to pull them off. He shows a cold glace towards me, "I'm a lot more capable of many things then you can think of..." He pushes my hair out of my face with his other hand; "As well I advise you to be careful about how you response when I let go of you..."

I hear the shower come to a stop meaning Aurlk was getting out I wanted to scream but Novato held on tightly.

He leaned in to my ear; "Keep this little chat between us...we'll continue this conversation some other time"

He lets go and my hands instantly go to my throat rubbing it, he rushes out of the room closing the door quietly which just in time to have Aurlk come out of the bathroom with his toothbrush in his mouth and the bath towel around his waist. I remove my hands from my throat when he gives me a concerned look; "Hey you ok?" he asks sounding all muffled from the toothbrush, I just nod my head and sit apple-cross on the bed. He heads back into the bathroom, rinsing his mouth out and comes back a few minutes later with some sweats and a tank on. He climbs into bed next to me and pulls me into his arms, I let him cradle me and I bury my face in his shirt inhaling his sent. "You're not ok.." his voice is sharp when he says this, knowing by this I couldn't look at him in his eyes; "I'm just tired" he goes to kiss my forehead, but tightens up and leans me upwards towards the headboard. I look up at him, he has a look of fear and rage in his eyes; "Alurk" I say with worry, "Did he touch you...Did he HURT you!" his face is deep when he mentions hurting me, I go to speak, but I'm afraid to even answer is his question based on knowing what he'll do if I even say anything at all. I feel tears forming in my eyes forcing me to look away from him, He grabs my waist and pulls me towards him embracing me.

Aurlk POV

I hold her close to me full of anger from just smelling the sent of Novato, the fact that he thought he had the right to put his hands on Arlize, my mate, my lover...my everything. It sent me in a rage I let go of her jumping off the bed rushing to the bedroom door ready to tear that wolf to shards....But I stop...not from me rethinking on how I want to handle this situation that was obviously clear that was to just kill the man...but I look behind me to have Liz holding tightly on to my leg while pulling on my t-shirt in her hands. I look down at her; "Liz let-" I stop when she looks up at me her face full of fear and sadness with tears pouring down her face; "p-please s-s-stop" I hesitate before moving my hands down to hers removing her from my legs and I keen down to her level, I embrace once more hearing her sob into my shoulder. I rub her back slowly holding her tightly, the fact of her having that fear in her eyes held me back from moving her from her position, and it made me question on what she was more afraid of...Novato or...My thoughts are interrupted when I feel her pull her face away looking up at me with her dark green hazel eyes full of tears and her hair falling into her face. I push it back and wipe her tears away; "A-Aurlk...I just want to go home..." I put my lips on her forehead causing her to flinch; "P-please Aurlk I want to go home". She starts crying again and I grab hold of her swinging her up in my arms, I lay her down on the bed, turn off the TV and light and lay down next to her. I pull the covers over her and hold her close to my chest; "I promise you we'll go home tomorrow" I whisper in her ear, and lay awake in till she dozes off. I lay there  with only the sounds of Liz's snores and sniffles in-till I hear a voice in the back of my self-conscience.
