Dear Violet,

Well, being a "soldier" wasn't everything I thought it would be. Up until yesterday they were just using me as a sort of Uncle Sam figure to help buy war bonds. I thought, "I better get to fighting soon, or I swear I'll go crazy." Peggy said I was not supposed to be a dancing monkey, that I was meant for more. You'll never believe what happened next. I found out that Bucky's regiment was sent up against a Nazi force at Rosano, and only thirty men made it back. Bucky wasn't one of them. The rest were killed or captured, but I didn't give up hope that our Buck was alive. I sort of hijacked a plane with Peggy and Howard's help, and flew thirty miles behind enemy lines to go rescue the 107th. I broke into the Nazi stronghold, and freed the survivors. At first I couldn't find Buck, but then I finally found him in a lab. We all made it out alive, and back to camp, somehow. There was a reason Bucky wasn't writing back. After he got over the initial shock of my appearance change, he was happy for me. VIOLET-LOUISE, I'M A HERO! Sorry, too arrogant. Anyways, I gotta go, I'm sorry. I love you, Violet-Louise Jones.

Love,

Steve (Captain America)☺

P.S.

Hey kiddo! Sorry for getting captured and all that. Steve is calling himself Captain America now (but that's partially my fault) and I think it's hilarious. Boy, you should see Steve now! He's enormous! Anyways, gotta run, I'll write soon!

Love ya,

Bucky
