'We have our evidence'
I kept looking over the text message with hope that all of this drama would be over. Mandy wouldn't have to go through this crap and Mia would be getting the punishment she deserves. "That little ugh," I mumbled.
I texted back an ok and he responded, telling me to meet him at his house. I grabbed my stuff and left Emmy's house, making sure to leave a note on the table to let her know where I went.
A little while after I walked out of the door, he sent a text with his address so I knew where to go.
After about 30 minutes, I arrived at his house. It would've taken me less time if I had driven but my car was still at home, since Mandy drove us to school. I went up to his door and knocked a few times before the door opened. In the doorway, stood Chance with a sleeping Aiden in his arms.
"Shhh," he said, putting his pointer finger against his lips.
"Ok," I mouthed, walking inside.
Chance bounced Aiden softly as he headed up the stairs. They looked so sweet like one of those stock photos you see in new picture frames.
"Where's Abigail?" I whispered.
"Asleep in her bed." I peeked into her room once we got to the top of the stairs and saw her small body slowly moving up and down with her steady breaths. Seeing her made me miss my childhood when naps and coloring took up the majority my life.
Once in Aiden's room, Chance set him down in his bed and tucked him in with a goodnight's kiss. I internally awed at the two. Abigail and Aiden had a good brother to look after them.
After my awe subsided, I realized that Chance had already started walking out. I quickly followed him to what I'm assuming was his room.
Even though I pictured Chance's room to be tidy and clean, it looked pretty similar to mine, a wreck. He walked in, picking up a random crumpled paper off of the floor and headed to his computer to log in.
"I know I know. My room's a mess." He said as he logged into his computer. "I cleaned it yesterday but by this morning it was whatever this is." He motioned to chaos around him with a look of confusion on his face, making me chuckle. Soon, he joined in on the chuckling and we both stood there like two laughing idiots as if we weren't about to see something that would change someone's life. That thought caused my laughter to subside a little quicker than normal.
I walked over next to Chance and saw him on the program that came with the spy glasses. He logged in and a few video files popped up with today's and yesterday's dates. "Just a heads up, these glasses don't have a microphone so there's no audio." He said looking at me as if to ask if that's ok.
"Well the audio would've helped but it doesn't matter now. Just show me the video." I said. Chance clicked on the most recent video and the video player opened on a shot of Mandy. When Chance clicked play, Mandy appeared to be fiddling with the glasses. I guess she was turning them on because soon after, she placed them on her face.
She waved at the glasses and started driving out of the school, which lasted about 10 minutes before she arrived at her house.
"Can you fast forward it until something weird happens?" I asked. I loved Mandy dearly but I wasn't in the mood for watching her daily routine.
Chance nodded and started dragging the time marker through the video, making the scenes flash by faster. I saw Mandy go in her house, get ready, leave for dinner with her parents, and have dinner. The part when she was leaving seemed a bit weird since the camera appeared to be shaking a lot. I told Chance to start the video when she got in the car so I could see what happened. As the scene played over, I saw her get in the car and start driving, seemingly fine. However half way through the ride, she jumped and started jittering. Her hands on the steering wheel were shaking and she sneaked a glance behind her.
