Hi guys and gals!!
I am so so so so so so sorry that I haven't updated. I have reasons though. Reason #1: I had writer's block, an extreme case might I add. Reason #2: I'm lazy. Really lazy. This is a filler chapter, but a chapter none the least. I'm also trying to come up with a schedule.
Almost at 500 views!! It might not be a lot for some people, but for me this is a major achievement. Especially since this is my first story. Oh and before I forget, you guys should check out the show Finding Carter. The second season just started and Kathryn Prescott is AWESOME might I add. Btw, the music video at the top has nothing to do with the chapter, but I have been listening to the song nonstop, so I wanted to share it with you guys.
I'm talking( well... typing) too much, so on with the chapter!
Bye

Field Day. Yep, that's right. Today was Field Day and I was just finding out about it. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind being outside. Well, if sitting on the bench in the park with my phone counted. I have a C in gym for a reason.
The list of activities included a game of kickball, a relay race, a scavenger hunt, and a jump rope competition. In all of the field days we've had, the thing I was best at was falling and this year would most likely be the same.
I was deep in thought when I felt a sharp pain in my arm. My head automatically snapped to the person who pinched me when I saw Emmy. "Ow! You can't just go around pinching people, Mr. Krabs" The irritation was clear in my voice.
Once those words left my mouth, she looked even more pissed off than she was originally. "Well if someone wasn't off in lala land, they wouldn't have gotten pinched. I have been calling your name for the past 5 minutes."
"I'm sorry. Did you know that field day was today?" I couldn't have been the only one oblivious to this whole field day situation.
She hesitated with a look of confusion before saying,"Yeah. They've had the posters up since last week and they announced it on the intercom yesterday. Anyway, I came to ask if you've seen Mandy lately."
'Now that I think about it, I haven't seen Mandy in two days. I wonder if she's okay.'
"No, I haven't seen her, but i'll call her if she isnt her by lunch." Knowing Mandy, she must be doing something imporant, since she never skips school.
"Okay. I'll see you later." With that, she left down the hall leaving me back to my thoughts about field day.
'Ooh! Maybe I could talk to Mr. Stewart and see if he can let me skip this year's field day'
I had 10 minutes until homeroom, so i quickly made my way to the principal's office making sure to avoid the many students chatting with their friends in the middle of the hallway. Seriously, out of all of the space in the hallway, they thought," Oh, let's stand in the middle of the hallway. It's not like people need this space to walk."
Once I made it to the principal's office, I knocked three times. Three has always been a lucky number for me.
"Come in." Mr. Stewart looked pretty young for a principal and he was more of a friend to the students than an authoritarian.
As walked into the room, I began to get my puppy dog face ready. Even though Mr. Stewart was nice, he was still firm. "Hello Mr. Stewart. I see that Field Day is today."
