Chapter 7 – Not you

(Logan’s POV)

I saw her rush out of her house, with all her bags, while attempting to lock the door. I walked over to her "Before you go, I need to tell you something"

"What, no hi?" she said not turning from the door

"Jane….I…" I tried

"Logan, hurry up, I’ve got a plane to catch"

I took a big breath "I think I still have feelings for you" WHAT WAS THAT? I wanted to face palm, I was going to tell her Derek’s my half-brother, but instead I said that! Her eyes widened and she froze, forgetting the door.

(Jane POV)

I stared at him, frozen to the spot. Luckily the cab pulled up, so I circled him and ran down the driveway, then put my bags in the trunk

"Jane!" he called "I...I..."

"Logan, look, we’ll talk when I get back, but right now my best friend needs me"

He nodded "see you when you get back Shorty" he laughed a bit. I smacked him on the shoulder then climbed in the cab "Text me when you land, okay?"

I nodded "I can do that" I smiled then the cab pulled away. Once I arrived at the airport, I went through security then sat and waited for my plane to arrive.

Once everyone boarded, and we were set to take off, I pulled out my iPod and scrolled through till I landed on the song I wanted, after a minute 'better than' by Marianas Trench filled my ears. As we took off, I watched out my window

'Sometimes the one you want is not the one you need...'

I quietly sang, when it ended 'Best Friends Forever' by KSM came on, but the version that came on, was the cover we had made for the talent show, back in middle school. Then I had made a slideshow of all our photos, and added the song to the background, before burning it on a CD for her 16th birthday. As I watched the video I began to cry, ive got to make this right.

It was a four hour flight; I started to doze as I thought about how I would find her when I landed...

I woke up to see we were getting ready to land. I slid my shoes back on, and turned my music down a bit, just as the intercom came on, saying to buckle our seatbelts, and that we will be landing momentarily.

While we were waiting for our turn to exit the plane, I turned my phone on. I had six missed calls, 3 from my parents, and 3 from Mason. I sent a text to Mason, briefly explaining everything, since he would be able to explain it to my parents the best. He responded a few minutes later saying

Mason: okay sweet pea, stay safe

Awe he always did understand; I sent a quick response saying I will and love you, before slipping it in my pocket and gathering my stuff. I stood up and joined the line to get off the plane; while I was waiting for my luggage, I sent Logan a quick text saying I landed, and I’m safe. After I claimed my bags, I hailed a taxi which took me to the hotel. I paid the girl, and then went inside; I was about to go to the desk when my phone meowed, yes, meowed. I opened the text from Mason

Mason: thought I’d be a bit of help, I reserved you a suite, fully paid for

Me: you didn’t have to do that
