"Christine, Christine." Erik started to sing.
"Father?" Gustave questioned
"Yes my boy, what is it?" Erik replied
"May I play?" He asked
"Of course." Erik replied
Gustave began to play a song that sounded very familiar to Erik. He realized it was the song Christine sang before Meg shot her.
"Love never dies, once it is in you, hearts may be broken, love lives on!" Gustave sang but he soon was in tears from the memory of his mother singing it. Erik wrapped him in a affectionate hug and he himself started crying.
"Don't cry my little boy, don't cry I miss her too." Erik told Gustave
"But why father, why. Why did she have to leave us." Gustave cried
"I do not know my little angel, and it wasn't her fault." Erik also cried
"I know father, I know." Gustave said trying to sooth his father
After Christine died, Raoul went crazy and did once again become a drunken fool. He eventually went off soemwhere and they haven't heard from him since.
It took all Erik had to not break down and kill himself after Christine died. He had Gustave to worry about. After they got done crying Gustave went to bed and Erik started to sing.
"The day starts, the day ends,
time crawls by,
still you don't walk through the door,
the moments creep,
yet I can't bear to sleep,
til I hear you sing once more."
He fell asleep thinking of Christine.
