Chapter 38: Almost Back to Normal

I followed Dale back to where our group was and he pulled me aside to a car. It was filled with boxes and even suitcases. "I went through it. Most of it is kid stuff. Figured you would like it. And hey, if you don't, that's fine too." Dale smiled and waited for my response. "Thankies." I told him. Ace made his way towards me and jumped up, wanting my attention. "I'll look at it, but I have to ask Daddy." I said and blushed instantly. "I mean Daryl." Dale waved it off and shrugged. "No big deal and it's none of my business." I nodded awkwardly as Dale walked away.

I could hear footsteps approaching towards me. I took a glance behind my shoulder to see Daddy and Rick. "Hi! Look at all this stuff! See the puppy! Can you help me with these boxes?" My mouth was running a mile a minute. Daddy was smirking at me in awe, probably because this is the first time he's seen me all excited and in little space. "I'll help ya' baby, but first, Rick wants to have a talk with us."

My eyes widened and I got scared. "Did I do something wrong? Did you do something wrong? Are we in trouble. Daddy I didn't do anything!" I cried getting antsy. Daddy placed his hands on my elbows and tried to calm me down. "Shh, ya' didn't do a thing wrong baby. Rick just wants to talk, okay?" I nodded my head while looking into Daddy's crystal blue eyes. Rick pulled us to sit and I made the big leap to sit in Daddy's lap. We haven't been very touchy lately, but since Kyle has been butting into our relationship all I want is to feel Daddy next to me.

Daddy excepted me with open arms as I snuggled myself against his chest. "How would you like to learn something new, Ally?" Rick asked me. The word new caught my attention and I bounced up and down in Daddy's lap. He groaned and held me still on his lap. "I wanna learn the new stuff!" "Okay, well, first you have to work with knives. Knives are not bad. They can be, but they're not. They are to protect you. So, if somebody tries to hurt you, then you can hurt them and get away. You can also protect yourself from the walkers." Rick was holding a small knife in his hand. "You may have hurt somebody but that doesn't make you a bad person. You protected yourself and did nothing wrong."

"That's what Daddy said. That it's okay to hurt people who try to hurt me." I repeated what Daddy told me, to Rick. "Well then he was right." Rick smiled, "so how about some knife training?" He asked. I looked back at Daddy who was shaking his head. "It's up to ya' baby. I wanna help ya' as much as I can, but this is all yer' decision."

I didn't want to tell Rick no because then his feelings would get hurt, so I decided to tell Daddy instead. "Tell him I said no." I whispered Ito Daddy's ear. He snickered and shook his head. "Alright. Rick, she said no." Rick was smiling ear to ear. "Ask her why?"

Daddy leaned close and whispered in my ear, "why?" I quickly told him, "I'm not ready." He told Rick my response, who was okay with it all. "Tell her that when she's ready, I'll be more than happy to help train her." I gave Rick a shy glance as he stood up to walk back to the group.

Once Rick was out of sight, I turned back to Daddy, straddling his waist. "I've missed you. Baby girl misses Daddy." I pout my lip out sweetly and whine. "Daddy misses you more sweet pea. I want ya' to get better. No more nightmares, or jumping when I touch ya'. I wanna be able to sleep next to ya' at night so I can wrap my arms around ya'."

Daddy's really missed me and I could tell by the look in his face. He was smiling and happy to have me back in his arms again. His eyes lit up with a sparkle much like mine when I saw something cute. "Maybe tonight we can sleep next to each other." I told him. I was really missing Daddy's warmth at night and his amazing back rubs and hair playing sessions before bed. It would always put me to sleep instantly especially if I had my paci. "Ya' don't have to-" "no. I wanna. I really wanna. I missed you." I pecked his cheek with a sweet kiss before standing up. "So, wanna help me look through this car?" I asked sweetly, bouncing on my tip toes.
