🌺Once again, just a little reminder that I'm not following the storyline completely.

💖Also I'm very sorry for the lack of updates. Some things are going on in my life that suck and I have no time to sit down and relax because I'm just uncomfortable and paranoid. Hope you enjoy this chapter. Gonna try to have another one out tonight!

"The CDC. I heard that went to shit weeks ago." Daddy spoke up giving his opinion to Rick and Shane. They both agreed on going to the CDC, if it was still up and running we'd be able to stay here, hopefully.

"It's the only option we have. We can't stay here forever." Rick said. Everyone else around the camp agreeing to leave. Daddy didn't want to leave with the group. He mentioned about us going off on our own, but that was before Merle ran off. "I go where you go." I told Daddy and followed him to the truck. "That's right, sweet pea. We stick together." Daddy said opening my door for the truck. Merle's bike was on the back of the truck. Daddy refused to leave it here because he had hope that Merle was out there. I did too, but I felt like something bad happened after he ran off and I wasn't sure what that bad thing was.

"We go bye-bye now?" I asked Daddy kicking my legs back and forth. We have been sitting in the truck for a half hour waiting on Rick to double check the camp for supplies and make sure everything was loaded. "In a few minutes, Ally-Cat." Daddy said calmly. I was just really excited to take another road trip with Daddy. I liked being in the truck with him. Soon it was time to go and I wiggled in my seat, ready to find out our fate. Daddy's hand rested on the inside of thigh, his thumb rubbing circles and giving me cold chills.

"If we get to the CDC and nothin's there, I wanna go look for Merle. He could be runnin' around here or somethin'. Hell, coulda went back to camp even." I looked over at Daddy, watching his facial expressions change. He missed Merle and wanted him back, so did I, but it would take us forever to find Merle. Daddy and I on our own wouldn't work to well either because I can't fight and if something bad happened to him I'd be alone. "I don't think we should go. Let's just stay with Rick and his group." I spoke up, my voice bubbly and sweet. Maybe he would consider staying if it was what I wanted. "They ain't shit to us, baby girl. We don't need 'em." Even though Daddy didn't like the rest of our group, I did. Glenn was nice and I liked Dale. I would miss the big puppy Ace and talking with the kids.

I put my head down and didn't say another word. I didn't want to push Daddy too far and have him yell at me. Now I realized that our plan was different from everyone else's. I didn't want it to be, but Daddy knows best and for some reason I felt like he was wrong this time. We should stay with the group. It was almost dark when we arrived at the CDC. I prayed that it was still running so I wouldn't have to leave the group. Daddy and I stayed side by side as we walking up to the front door. The small camera in the corner blinked red. "Hello?" Rick asked, noticing that the camera was moving. "Please enter," an electronic voice stated. Our group stayed huddled up, sticking together. The large metal doors opened wide and we walked inside, cautiously. Somebody grabbed me from behind before I even took three steps inside and they started patting me down. "Hey, get yer' hands off her!" Daddy yelled pulling me back into his arms, protecting me. The man let me go and raised his hands.

"Gotta crazy redneck in here, Dad." The man said with his hands raised. I could tell from his face that he was around thirty. He had a lanky build with a dark beard and wore glasses. "Hold up, Kyle." A man yelled as he came out of the back with a large gun in his hands. "Sorry about that. He's very wary of people nowadays. This is my son, Kyle, he's not exactly good with people." The man glared at his son and walked towards Rick. "I'm Steven, welcome to the CDC. Can we help you?" Steven asked very politely. He was almost like a hotel receptionist.
