The Prophecy

Nattie couldn't help but think that she was stuck in a crappy erotic novel instead of a Disney movie as she was reading this contract. Some of the terms Hades had written down were controlling, concerning, and somewhat laughable. For example, on page two - section XII - the minion must appoint his/her leader as the boss, master, Master Hades, Lord Hades, my lord, my superior, my god, and/or my future king of Olympus. Page four - section XXX - minion shall accept any punishment bestowed by his/her master if the minion fails to accommodate the master's requirements.

What sort of punishment was he talking about? Nattie curled her lip in disgust at the thought of her 'master' spanking her across the knee with the imps watching. Her stomach growled from the lack of dinner, but she suddenly lost her appetite.

If a naive imp doesn't find the first page a major red flag like section III - the minion shall obey any command uttered by the master's lips without hesitation or argument. Then surely, they wouldn't find page twelve alarming.

Section LV.I- the minion must maintain contact with the master at all times; before, during, and/or after a mission. Section LV.II- The master may seek surveillance on a minion if and when it's necessary.

Nattie couldn't help but laugh, burying her face into her hands, careful not to pull her hair from the pinned clasp. It's no wonder Meg wanted to escape this slavery, and it wasn't because the guy forced her to flirt with monsters or embrace his strong cigar odor.

Nattie knew she needed to stay away from Hades and maybe notify Zeus of the devil's plan. If she had her phone, she could record the conversation, including the confession on how Hades made Hercules mortal. She could also present the contract to the king himself. Unfortunately, the deal didn't have anything significant involving the Titans, murder, or Hercules. If she did say something, Hades would claim to have never met Nattie in his life, nor have ever discussed a partnership with her. Zeus may think her crazy and that she's responsible for Hercules's abduction. Ridiculous accusation considering she was the same age as Hercules, but it can happen. Nattie couldn't take the chance of bringing Zeus into this, not without hard evidence. If she tried to escape Hades, he would persist and make her life a living hell, more excruciating than it was already. The girl needed to be smart in order to survive. That was the plan all along - survive. Plus, even if she did have the evidence to condemn Hades, Nattie wasn't a snitch.

"Why can't the Fates be here to tell me what to do?"

"We're right here, child," an elderly voice said. The girl gasped and gazed up at the chessboard where three old hags in black hoods were standing.

The modern girl raised from the steps, almost collapsing at the sight of women's gruesome forms, "Um... uh... hi... I-um..."

"Speak up, child. We don't have all night!" Lachesis snapped.

"Sorry," Nattie uttered, "You-You probably know why I need you-"

"We know, child!" Atropos barked. "We know everything."

"So you know that I am from-"

"Real World - Athens, Greece 2012?" The short hag scoffed. "Of course we do."

Nattie lowered her eyes to the floor, having a huge revelation. There was no way Hades could figure out who she was unless...

"It was you," she was no longer afraid but furious, pointing an accusing finger at the hags. "You told Hades!"

"Well..." Clotho shrugged, "we might've spilled a bean or two about the Underworld thief."

"You told him about me?!" Nattie cried, gesturing to herself. "He took me hostage, because of you! I'm stuck here, forced to do his bidding, because of you! Why?! Why would you do that?!"
