Apollo Mission - Part 2

Hercules and Nattie were hanging out at Speedy Pita, embracing Kokoretsi and the Classic Pita to get Hercules's mind off of what happened at his job. Just when they were about to dig in their chosen meal, Hermes appeared on the table, causing a jump with fright and a drink spill.

"Hermes?!" Nattie cried.

"That's my name! God of messaging is my game," Hermes turned to Nattie, lowering his specs, "Whoa, who's your friend, Herc? She is a looker."

Hercules started blushing while Nattie giggled.

"Name's Nattie," she introduced herself.

"Nattie, babe, love the style. It works for you."

Glad someone thinks so. "Thanks," she reciprocated the compliment, "and I love the glasses."

"Thanks, babe. Can't work at Olympus without 'em, that's for sure."

"Hermes, what are you doing here?" Hercules asked.

"Oh yeah," Hermes returned to the matter at hand, addressing the boy. "Good news, my man! The big guy - Zeus - your dad got you a job!"

"Really? What is it?"

"Say goodbye to mutton and say hello to the sun," Hermes raised his glasses to look up at the sky, specifically the heated ball above.

"The sun?" Hercules and Nattie asked curiously at the same time.

"That's right, babe," Hermes agreed. "My pal, Hercules, here," Hermes put his arm around Hercules, "is going to be driving Apollo's sun chariot!" Hercules and Nattie's mouths dropped for different reasons.

"Really?!" Hercules cried with excitement.

"You're kidding?" Nattie didn't know what shocked her more - Zeus staying true to his word or Hercules driving the chariot with the hot sphere tied to the back. Hercules was known to be a klutz. She's worried that the entire Varibobi forest would be on fire if he made one rookie mistake.

"That's right," Hermes confirmed. "Now we better get to Olympus, babe! Punctuality is a must."

Hercules hugged Hermes, nearly squeezing the flying guy, who turned bluer than usual, "This is great!" Then Hercules took his friend by the hand, "Come on, Nattie!"

"What?! Where are you taking me?" she demanded. "We haven't finished lunch!"

"I want you to see me ride the sun chariot!"

"Oh, gee, Herc," Hermes slid in between, breaking the hand lock. "You know perfectly well that mortals can't be on Olympus."

"Oh, come on, Hermes!" Hercules begged. "I'm mortal, and Nattie is my friend."

"Sorry, Herc, can't help you there."

Hercules made the puppy dog face, "Please."

Hermes lowered his glasses, "You know, Herc, that doesn't work on me."

"Please," it was Nattie's turn to beg, giving Hermes the same treatment she did for Parentheses. Not because she wanted to go but to make sure she still got the talent of persuasion. So far, things didn't go entirely in her favor.

Hermes cooed at the adorable quivering lip and the dough eyes, "Aw. How can I possibly say no to that face? Tell you what, Herc, I'll ask the big guy if she can come. And if all goes well, she may join you. All right, babe?"

Hercules nodded in agreement, "Sounds good."

"Great! See ya on Olympus!" Hermes flew up in the air to talk to Zeus.
