CHAPTER V: Preliminary Exam.

It's been a week and the last of the teams showed up now we all stood in rows waiting for the Hokage to finish explaining that we need to do a preliminary round to dwindle down the number of genin in the final round a month from now. As we watched the boards pick the names for the first round I smiled. "Minato Namikaze vs Kabuto Yakushi." The proctor said, Gaara gave my hand a good luck squeeze before following Temari and Kankuro. Standing across from Kabuto I gave him a wolf grin, openly showing my mischievous intent. "Hello again." He smiled back, "hello, Minato-chan." I waved slightly and waited. "Ladies first." He said "I know I've been waiting for you to move." He turned red with rage, and leapt into action. He flashed around me swiping at me with a kunai; but to the others watching I was being cut up.

"Minato!?" Temari and Konkurō shouted from beside Gaara. Who kept a straight face. Landing on the ground face down I faked defeat. "And the winner of the–" "wow, your fast Kabuto." I said getting up and dusting myself off. Several of the spectators gasped at me in surprise and wonder. "How-? But I-?" Kabuto stuttered. "Hhm? Oh you thought you were actually hitting me, hehe, you silly, silly boy, I'm too fast for that." He growled and crouched into a fighting stance. "You wanna see speed I can show you speed." Blasting forward I ran in fast sharp zigzags to place my teleportation marks all around him. Before speeding up even more and teleporting from mark to mark punching and cutting Kabuto till he fell to the ground unconscious. "The winner of the first match is Minato Namikaze!" The proctor called and I flashed over to Gaara and our team. Standing next to him he patted my head and as his hand slipped from my head it slipped through my hair strands were in between his fingers as he lifted his hand to his face I don't know if he kissed my hair or smelt it but I flushed with colour at the idea of either.

"The next match is Sasuke Uchiha vs. Yoroi Akado!" Leaning on my elbows and watching this fight I could tell it was getting Gaara blood thirsty for his turn, looking at the other Genin of this test, my eyes landed on the blonde across from me. He looked too much like me for it to be a coincidence. The pink haired girl that's in his team didn't seem to amount to much, her thin body didn't hold an ounce of training fat and or muscle, and her hair looked like she cared more for it than her Ninja training but it was different it was shorter, maybe she cut it or something but I could still tell that it was in better shape than it was supposed to be after spending a week out in that forest. Flicking my eyes to the jônin beside them I caught him staring at me, his eye, looked for something; something he must have seen in someone else or if it was even that.

He was a tall man, silver gravity defiant hair, and his whole face minus one eye covered. His mask covered his face but any ninja could tell that just by looking at him; he was handsome, a round strong jaw, plump lips, and a straight nose, high cheek bones and strong vigilant eyes, even covered I could feel his Sharingan on me, as he looked though my jutsus for anything or everything to copy. Moving onto the next person it was a girl, short black hair Byakugan eyes and a heavy formless cream ivory sweater and light gray pants she was fidgety and her eyes kept flickering to Naruto, and she would blush when he smiled to no one in particular.

The next person was a boy with a gray sweater and a dog on his head under the hood. The boy was just as energetic as Naruto, but wasn't as slow minded. The next boy wore a high collared coat and circle glasses and the feeling of bugs crawling on me told me he dealt with bugs in his line of jutsu styles. The woman I'm guessing is their teacher; was gorgeous with shoulder length wavy black hair ruby eyes and a red and ivory white dress one sleeve was red and the other was her bare arm wrapped in cloth, and her opposite leg, while the other was bare. The last leaf team was another Hyūga a boy this time. His hair was long and tied low he wore bandages, leather and his headband over his forehead. His shirt had square patches the length across his chest and his brown shorts stopped just above his knees.
