-1 week later -

          My mom and I finally got all moved in to our new house, just in time for the first day of school tomorrow. And to be completely honest, i'm not too stoked about school starting back up. I mean, of course, no kid likes going to school, but especially starting at a new school is just freaking me out even more.

          I've never been the most popular person at school, but I also wasn't the most unknown person. I had a small group of friends. People I could trust. High school is filled with so much unnecessary drama, that keeping a small friend group is smart, and way better than having tons of 'friends' who turn on you and make your life a living hell.

          I already know I will never be able to replace Lex, but I hope I can make some close friends here in this small town, and finish off high school strong. I'm finally in my last year of high school and I hope to go to college soon after. Ever since my dad left i've had this urge to work my ass off, and succeed, unlike him. He's my motivation to keep going. It may sound strange, but I never, in a million years, want to end up like him... I never want to leave my kids and keep them wondering at night what all went so wrong, how come I never stayed, or what was so wrong with themselves for having their own parent leave them, unlike he chose for me.

     As I was unpacking, I turned my head to look over at the clock on my nightstand. It read 10:49pm. God, I didn't even know i've been unpacking this long. Since I have to wake up pretty early tomorrow, I should probably head to bed and get some rest.

     I close the drawers to my dresser, stand up, and go downstairs to say goodnight to my mom. As I reach the bottom of the stairs I see her sitting on the couch, sipping some tea, and reading of course her favorite book, Twilight. Boy did she love that book. She's probably read that series like ten times, i'm not even joking. She hears me as head towards her and she turns around, and puts the book on her lap.

     "Hey sweetie, did you get all moved in?" she asks smiling. "Yeah! Actually I did. I've been working forever on it, and it seems pretty late so I think i'm gonna hit the hay." I reply yawning. "Alright sweetie, well sleep tight. I'm going to head to bed soon but I want to finish this chapter first." my mom says, turning to pick up her book, continuing to read it.

     I laugh. "Mom haven't you read that book like a million times?" I ask giggling. She smiles and covers her face with her hands. "yes," she says blushing. "but its TOO good not to... all of this vampire stuff, and all of the supernatural stuff is just so intriguing," my mom adds. "Do you actually believe in that crap mom?" I ask rolling my eyes. She turns her head back towards me and replies with "Yes. I really do. I mean how could someone just make all of this up? Plus I've been doing some research lately, and there's too much evidence for it not to be real." she says serious. "Okay mom, whatever you say," I say scoffing. "I think you should get some sleep, reading this book like ten million times is just making you insane and overthink things." I say jokingly. I head over to my mom, lean down, and give her a hug, and I head back upstairs.

     "Goodnight sweetie!" I hear my mom call from downstairs. "Goodnight!" I yell back, and close the door to my room. I hop on my bed and lay down, processing my thoughts. For some reason what my mom said is really getting to me. Maybe the supernatural is real. I mean, it can't be, it's utterly impossible... but I still just have a weird feeling I can't shake. Ugh, I can't even think about this now... I really should get some sleep, and hope that everything goes well tomorrow.

A/n; Hey guys! sorry this book is starting off slow. I PROMISE the twins will be in the next chapter. I just have to kinda set the setting, and characters, and plot down, before I just start with the good stuff. 💖💖
