Chapter Three
"Because you look like a carbon-copy of the Duchess of Gardenia." Hayley said.
"Okay," Victoria said raising her hand in front of her signaling them to stop. "What do I being a carbon copy of the daughter of the Duke of Gardenia have to do with why she hates me? Are you sure it's not because I spilled my guts to her on her first day?"
"The spilling guts thing is not it. But the rumor, I don't know, Tory," Hayley said. "It was only a rumor I heard circulating around the school last year when she stole your boyfriend."
Hayley stopped as she realized what she just said.
"Oops," she apologized. "I am so sorry. I can be tactless at times."
"Don't worry," Victoria waved off her apology. "There's no need. I already got over him. I have a whole summer for that."
"Besides," Elizabeth said. "We are on Operation: Get over Nathan Anderson. And it has been underway for more than a few of months."
Hayley laughed. "How is it? Successful?"
"On the first couple months," Elizabeth answered after swallowing a food she had on her mouth. "To be completely honest, no. but now, or ever since I left her a month ago, she changed. She is no longer the crying blob of mess from last time."
"Hey, I resent that," Victoria said scowling at her friend.
"Yeah!" Hayley added. "You were a crying blob last year."
"Okay that's it," Victoria said with a tone of surrender. "You two," she pointed to them, "are ganging up on me. "
"No, we are not," the two chirped in unison.
"Great," Victoria groaned burying her face in her hands in. "Now I'm stuck with twins."
The two laughed.
As their laughs subside, they continued eating their now cold breakfast. The table was silent except for the sound of cutting silverware and occasional teases but other than that breakfast was a peaceful event.
The Mess Hall was as lively as any school dining hall would be. Students chatter was jovial and lively. Girls are sharing their latest gossip while boys are doing well...boys stuff.
The bell rang stopping and breaking all conversation altogether. Groans and moans of frustration followed before each and everyone got out of the Mess Hall and out towards their classes.
"What class do you have?" Victoria asked as she stood up and took her bag as well as her schedule from the table.
"Literature," Hayley replied.
"Home Economics," Elizabeth grumbled.
"History," Victoria said.
The three sighed. "Guess I'll see you later then."
"See you," Hayley said as she took her things and left to the direction of the English building.
"See ya." Elizabeth said leaving to the opposite direction.

First day of classes was uneventful in Victoria's category. Being shunned by the school population, the usual routine fell in Victoria's shoulders.
The sneering and glaring that she came accustomed to followed her wherever she went. The daily dose of Alexa insults. The misfortunes that befall her were a lot and it's not even dinner yet.
Victoria didn't mind them. She was already accustomed to it. She lived by it. It was her wish. It was what she wanted. But after that underlying comment of Alexa about her parents, Victoria doesn't know anymore.
