Chapter Twenty-Five

"Can you tell us what happened, miss?" one of the police officer asked Anya, who looked stoically at the burning house she just escaped at. "Miss?"

The burning inferno was mesmerizing as it was dangerous. The whole house was engulfed in fire and Anya's unwavering eyes flickered for a moment before she screamed out in pain.

The person immediately at her side was Charles, but he was pushed away by one of the members of the medical person assisting on patching them up.

"We got this son," he said. He made Anya who was screaming in pain. Trashing on the stretcher they had her in, she had hit one of the woman assisting her.

"My head!" she screamed out loud. "My head. It hurts." Tears were pouring out of her eyes and pain had etched her face.

"We have to get her to calm down," the man who made who pushed aside Charles declared. "She is having a tachycardia."

"Charles," Ryan stood beside him. "What is going on?"

"I don't know," he replied watching helplessly as they tried to calm Anya down. "But the police was pushing her to answer their questions about what happened when she just scream out."

"We can't inject her," one of them said. "What if she is allergic?"

He couldn't bear watching her helplessly like that. Charles push passed the medics standing beside the man from earlier. Grabbing hold of Anya's hand, he called out. "Anya. Anya. You need to calm down. "
One of the medics wanted to grab Charles out, but the men stopped her. He shook his head. "It is worth a try."

"Anya," Charles said again. She forced her to look at him. "Look at me. Anya. I'm here. I'm not leaving but you need to calm down."

"Charles?" she whispered her tone hoarse from screaming. "Don't leave."

"I won't," Charles promised. "Just relax. Sleep if you want too."

Anya nodded closing her eyes tiredly.
The man nodded in thanks at Charles.

"We need to take her to the hospital," he declared. "And you too."

Charles almost forgot about the cuts he had when the guy threw him on the mirror when they fought.

"We'll just follow you." Charles nodded.

The man nodded before Charles left Anya's side and back at Ryan who was looking worst for wear than usual. His over coat was gone and there was a cut on his lips that he wave as nothing.

"How is my sister?" Ryan asked when he saw Charles. "They are taking her to the hospital along with us."

Before Ryan could say anything else, Charles turned to the officer in front of his. "Now officer, you can wait for that interview when Anya is done. Got it?"

Charles didn't even bother to listen for his reply before he made his way to Anthony who was being surrounded by a couple of officers.

"Tony, drive and follow that ambulance," Charles said as he ignored the police and slipped in the car. Ryan following suit.

"Sorry officers, maybe next time," Anthony apologized before slipping inside the car.
Anthony had turned on the car and drove off following the glowing lights of the ambulances carrying Anya.

They arrived at the beach villa Julianne owned about an hour ago. The whole place was silent, too silent. There were extra guards like they had expected. Seeing this, Markos decided only a few people is need in a mission like this so he sent most of them back to headquarters.

They had parked the car just along the forest that is found at the back of the villa. Thankful for the vegetation, the car was well-hidden from view.

"This is going to be a stealth mission," Markos explained to Anthony who wore a confused expression on his face. "We don't need a lot of people for this."

"I hope you're right," Anthony whispered under his breath however, Markos heard him.

"I always am," he replied.
Markos turned on his comms and ordered his men to move at the front of the house. "They take front." He started. "We go back."
"We have to cover all exits." Charles added.

"Yes," Markos nodded. "We have."

He handed comms to Charles and Ryan.

"Hey, what about me?" Anthony asked.

"Wait here," Markos ordered him. If we are not back in thirty minutes with Anya, call 911."

The three slipped out of the car and inched towards the back door of the villa. They were only a guard that Markos had taken care off with a tranquilizer gun. He gave Ryan and Charles a pistol filled with tranquilizer bullets.

"No killing, remember?" Markos said.
Charles nodded as Ryan made his way to the door.

"Locked." He announced twisting the door knob.

"Step aside, Ry," Charles said. He took a card from his wallet and picked the door opened.

He opened the door on the first try. "I learned that when Anthony and I were locked out in elementary." He explained seeing the looks Ryan was giving him.

They walked in to what looked like the kitchen of the villa. The whole place had all lights on. They could clearly see what the framework of the house.

"I'll go left." Markos said, turning towards the left hallway of the house.

"I'll go right," Ryan said.

"Then, I check up stairs." Charles announced.

Charles took up the stairs. Once reaching the top floor of the villa, he made his way sleathily down the hallway. On his first turn he encounter a man whom he knocked out. Charles continued walking down. Listening to any kind of sound, Charles heard shuffling down the hallway. He ran down towards that direction.

Once he reached the door, he swong it opened and the scene that greeted him had him mad.

Anya was bounded on the on the floor. In the couple of days that she had been missing, it was clear to see she wasn't eating well. She looked thin. Thinner than usual. There were prominent bags under her eyes.

She looked up to the sound of the door just like the two bodyguards she had. They came to Charles but he was ready. He is young, quick, agile and smart compared to them.

He fought them; kicking, punching them as they did the same to him. One of the men threw Charles over his shoulder and unto the mirror on the side of the room.

Anya screamed in fright. "Charles!"

"Shut up, girlie." One of them said, backhanding her.

Charles saw him do that to her. He saw red. No one hurts Anya and gets away with it.

"Charles," he immediately came to her. He unbounded the rope that bind Anya's legs together.

"You came?" Anya asked.

"Of course," Charles replied smiling reassuringly at her.

"We have to go before she returns." Anya said.

"Julianne?" Charles asked.

She nodded standing wobbly on her two feet. The two walked out of the room. Anya leaning against Charles for support or else she would fall flat on her face.

They finally have her but they didn't know the amount of danger just going out of the house.
