Chapter Twenty
Victoria woke up in darkness with her head pounding. Someone blindfolded her. She could feel her hands bounded behind her.
She was confused about how she woke up in this situation. Then, she remembered what happened at the teacher's Lounge.
She is being kidnapped. By someone she didn't know. Or at least someone she consciously don't know.
She was starting to be aware of her surroundings. She knew that she in a car moving somewhere where the road was all bump and not concrete or asphalt for that matter.
"Why did we have to bring the other one, then?" The Asian asked. "Thought we are only after the girl."
"We cannot leave any witnesses behind." The third man replied.
"But, the old woman?" The American asked.
"I dunno," The Asian answered. "It was orders."
"What are going to do with her?" she heard a man asked. The man had an Asian accent, she took note.
"This wasn't what the boss said. She isn't the daughter of the duke and duchess. This girl is not royalty. She doesn't even look royalty." Another one said. And judging by the way he speaks, he can be an American. No accent whatsoever. Victoria took another note.
"You are so dumb." Another man said. "Ever heard of disguises."
"You mean?" the American asked.
"Of course," the third man replied exasperated. "How dumb could you get? I don't see what the boss see in use. You are not useful, you're a nuisance."
It followed a slap and yelp from the first man, the Asian one.
"No hitting the driver," he said followed by another slapped. Victoria felt the car moved to the side sending her rolling to the wall of the car. She hit her head again which ended her to lose her consciousness again.
The next time she opened her eyes she was tied against a one of the post of a blue four poster bed. Victoria scanned the room and was surprise it was an improvement from last time's hostage site. The place was majestic compared to last summers. The place back then was a dump. Old rickety and dirty. Now the room in which she was held was fit for royalty.
The room had high ceiling. The walls were painted in majestic white. The furniture around the room completely screamed royalty. The framework of the bed was genuine mahogany. There was a vanity table at the end of the room. Victoria could see make up lined on top of the desk.
The whole room was pristine and white the only grubby thing there was her.

"What is going on?" everyone was wondering when they saw men in black suits walked down the halls of the Literature Department. Behind them the Duke and Duchess of Gardenia followed. Their faces were blank as they marched down the hall heading to the untouched Teacher's Lounge at the end of the hall.
They watched as the men walked in the room and shutting it loudly behind them.
"Weren't that the Duke and Duchess of Gardenia? What were they doing here?" were the questions that is ringing around school just a few minutes after the incident happen. It was surprising how gossip travels fast around the entire school.
Within minutes the whole school, students, teachers and even parents knew of the Duke and Duchess' presence in the school. But within in moments someone started another much more nerve-wrecking and surprising gossip.
"Did you hear?" a red head to her friends. "Victoria is kidnapped?"
"Victoria Rostova?" her friend replied. "She is kidnapped."
"Why would anyone kidnap her?" another one of her friends said. "She is just a nobody."
They glared at her. "Don't say that." The red head said.
"No wonder she was not with her friends during the welcome party."
While on the other side of the campus another gossip was taking flight.
"The Anastasia is missing."
This gossip was receiving the same reaction if no more aggressively than the first one.
"Where?"
"Here."
"Here?"
"In Cross, of course."
The whole school was in a small state of panic as the information of someone being kidnapped inside the school settled in everyone.

Meanwhile, in the headmistress' office everyone was worrying on how the information got leaked. The only people who knew that Victoria is kidnapped were inside the room.
"How did the entire school find out?" Charles asked as he paced another room.
The phone call didn't even soothe is imaginative mind. He was worried about Victoria. What were they going to do with her? He couldn't describe the feelings that are succumbing him. It was suffocating him. He doesn't know what these feelings could be.
Was he falling for the stubborn duchess? He wasn't sure yet but what he could be sure is that he felt something for her. Something big. Something he doesn't understand.
The feelings he felt for her were more than that of what he felt for Amethyst. The girl whom he thought he fell for. The girl who played with his heart and got it broken. He swore off love that same moment Amethyst broke his heart.
But, he couldn't understand why he was willing to jump into a relationship with a girl he just met twice over the summer.
He just know that she awakens feelings from deep within him that he cannot explain. Feeling stronger and deeper than that he felt for Amethyst not so long ago.
And then there is the dilemma of his parents getting worried for Victoria when they didn't know her, as far as he knows that is.
But then why is his mother keep on muttering that Victoria or rather Anya is like a daughter to her. Why? Then just before they left, he could not forget the Duchess of Gardenia's words.
"It's great to see you again, dear."
He had to ask Ryan about that one. Because as far as he know, Ryan is the only person he knows in that family before knowing Victoria-er Anastasia. Ryan is the only one he knows.
