Chapter Six

The sun was up and the cool air of autumn brush pass Tory and her friends as they made their way to the newly installed Archery range where the try-outs are held.

It was already ten minutes before the try-outs and the three are aware of the fact that a lot of students are participating.

The newly installed range was flooding with students, eager to be able to join the new club in the Academy.

To anyone who doesn't know about Cross Academy, one would think that the school is one for snobs and for those overly smart since the school offers advances classes to every subject; arithmetic, history, science and many more. However as the school offers advance academic studies, the school also gives equal attention to the extra-curricular activities, like sports and in some visual arts.

"Guys," Victoria moaned in despair and in fright as she looked at the huge amount of people flooding the range. "I can't do this." she looked at the students gather in bunch around the entrance of the range.

"You can do this," Hayley and Elizabeth were quickly in her side shaking and giving a hug and an encouragement.

"You are going to beat their asses," Hayley said slapping her lightly on the back.

"Besides, you have a very good hand and eye coordination," Elizabeth commented. "One of the best, I might add. SO KEEP IT TOGETHER GIRL!"

"Besides, you want to make your year memorable, don't you?" Hayley asked.

"Hey, I guess," Victoria smiled but cringing slightly from Elizabeth shouting in her ear.

"Are you sure? I can't hear ye," Hayley said in that cute little accent of hers.

"Yes!" Victoria said smiling a full blown smile.

"Now," Elizabeth said smiling at her friend before dragging her to the entrance. "You got the spirit. Let's go. We wouldn't want to disappoint now, do you?"

Elizabeth and Hayley dragged Victoria in the range making sure that she wouldn't want to slip out especially since the shy and insecure girl who is afraid and hates attention emerged after the adrenaline of joining the Archery team wore off. And seeing many students joining is not helping the situation.

The trio spotted the Headmistress talking to another middle-aged woman as well as the other teachers on near a raise platform. Victoria stared at the middle-aged woman whom strikes to her as someone she knew a few years ago.

"Are you sure this is even a try-out?" Victoria said as she and the others found a seat on the bleachers that surrounded the rather big archery range. "It looks like a tournament to me."

"You said it," Elizabeth said, "but I'm not surprise this the first time there is an archery team in Cross. A lot are excited to join."

Just as Elizabeth finished, a shrill voice interrupted them. "Oh if isn't the three musketeers."

"Hiya Park," Elizabeth sneered glaring at the blonde girl approaching them with her band of airhead companions. "Nice to see you here."

"Couldn't say the same about you, Rag." She sneered before facing Victoria with a smirk on her face. "Heard that you signed up the team." She drew herself closer to Victoria and looked at her in the eye. "Just a piece of advice. Back out and leave yourself from further humiliation. You and I both know you can't shoot an arrow to save your life."

"Nice advice," Victoria said evenly. "I'll keep it in mind. But I'm not quitting." She mentally patted herself in the back as her voice didn't waver and show any weakness to the Slutty Queen.
