Chapter Two: Illegal Races

I stared at the boy in shock. Is he somehow related to Katherine?
"Uhm...Hi?" I half asked half greeted.
"Jordan? Is everything all right?" Katherine's voice echoed throughout the house. I could see her petite face over the boy's shoulder.
"Mom. Who's this?" The boy pointed at me.
"That's Annie's daughter, Melissa!" Katherine chirped.
"Hello Katherine. May I ask, who's this boy?" Asking politely, I pointed at the boy.
"Oh. You don't remember? This is my son, Jordan! You two were great friends when you were a lot younger. I remember about fifteen years ago, you two would hold each other's hand!" Katherine gushed.
I wrinkled my nose. I have to admit, my childhood friend isn't that bad looking.
"More importantly, what are you doing in our house?" Jordan asked, frown lines appeared on his forehead, making him more attractive.
"Oh. My mom told me to come over and clean it a bit."
"That's wonderful! Tell your mother that I deeply thank her!" Katherine happily said.
I nodded.
"Well, I should leave now!" I said.
"Ah, I haven't introduced you to the rest of my family!" Katherine clapped her hands.
There's more?
"Julie and Marcus, come over here!" Katherine yelled.
Another good looking boy around my age and a small cute girl stepped into the house.
"Hello! My name's Melissa!"
Geez. I sound like a freaking girl who goes around babysitting little kids and dresses up in pink fluffy dresses and pretend to be a princess for their own fucking sake.
"Sup. Name's Marcus." Marcus walked over to shake my hand. I shook it firmly.
"You have a strong grip for a girl." He smirked.
"Marcus!" Katherine chastised. She slapped him on the back. "Be nice!"
"But I was being nice!" Marcus whined.
"Hello there!" I said to the little girl who's name was Julie.
"Hello..." She said shyly. Awww she's so cute. A blonde curl fell onto her adorable face. I move it out of the way with my fingers.
"Katherine, how come I haven't seen your children before?"
"That's because they were attending a boarding school!"
Oh. That makes sense.
"Well, I better leave now!"
"Oh, if it's not too much trouble can you baby sit Julie and Jordan tonight at 7pm? I'm going out with your mother to have a drink."
I never knew about this. Why didn't mom tell me?
"Sure." I grabbed the mop, broom, towels and bucket and headed out of the house.

It was almost time for me to go. I quickly changed into my favourite skinny ripped jeans and a tank top that was a bit too small that it showed my belly button. I grabbed my biker's jacket and a cap. I slipped on some converse and grabbed my phone. I walked over to Katherine's house.
