Melissa's P.O.V:I giggled as my vision blurred. I had driving down the same road for about a few minutes. Or was it hours? I didn't know. I brought the bottle of vodka to my lips, missing several times. As I took a swig, vodka dribbled down my chin and dropped onto my shirt. I giggle and spluttered, choking on my saliva a bit. I let go of the wheel to hit my chest, trying to ease the choking when a tree came into sight. It all happened too fast for me to do anything about it. The front of my car slammed into the tree, making me jerk forward, hitting the half inflated airbag.
I gasped as the airbag pressed against my body. I giggled and grabbed my bottle of vodka before stumbling out of the car. I began to walk, stumbling a bit as the world began to spin uncontrollably. I let out a mighty laugh. I almost died. Twice. My laughter filled the empty road, echoing into the distance. I began to walk off, not caring wherever the hell I went. I wanted to die and seemed like death didn't want to choose me.
Jordan's P.O.V:
It was about one am right now and I couldn't sleep. I was thinking about what Marcus told me and Melissa's words. Who should I believe? Vanessa? Or Melissa? Usually I would've chosen Melissa but it didn't make sense how she just lashed out at me at the hospital. Sighing, I tossed and turned all night. I wonder where she was. Was she home? Was she okay? Did she get hurt about what I said? It's funny, I still care this much even though I was upset.
All of a sudden, my door burst open and Marcus barged in. He was panting like crazy.
"What?" I asked.
"M-Melissa." He breathed. My eyes widened. Did something happen to her? Oh dear god I hope not.
"What? What happened?" I asked.
Marcus looked at me with wide eyes.
"She's disappeared."
I shot out of bed like a rocket. What did he mean she disappeared?
"What do you mean she disappeared? Where is she?" I asked. I was started to get worried.
"It's exactly like I said Jordan! Melissa's disappeared!" Marcus panted, frown lines plastered over his face.
"What? B-but how?" I asked, stuttering.
"Just, follow me. Melissa's mom is downstairs. She's hysterical." I nodded and threw on some sweatpants and a shirt. I nervously bit on my fingernail, something when I did when I was extremely nervous. Where could she be? I thought she was with Marcus.
You idiot that was nine hours ago!
In nine hours? She could be practically on the other side of the state! I shuffled down the stairs to see Melissa's mom sitting on the couch with her head in her hands. My mom sat beside her, rubbing her back comfortingly. Marcus sat on the opposite couch, watching with an awkward look on his face.
"Where's Julie?" I asked.
"Over at a friend's house." Marcus answered. My mom rubbed Annie's back comfortingly.
"What happened?" My mom asked softly. Annie let out a sob as she began to explain what had happened.
"It was around I don't know, two pm or something when I got a call from the hospital saying Melissa disappeared. I panicked and I had to left the office to search for her. W-when I arrived at the hospital, I spent two hours there to search for her." Annie explained in a shaky voice before Marcus interrupted.
