~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Jordan
I stared at the text I sent Melissa. I regret sending it but after what the girl said to me, I regretted the fact that I regretted sending the text. She's already seen it, you can't turn back time Jordan.
Vanessa told me everything before I visited Melissa. I was going to confront her about it and she ordered me to get out. Vanessa's right, Melissa's inconsiderate and down-right rude. She's changed too much. I remember the times we had as kids. I doubt she remembered. We were inseparable, but she's become a monster, someone with no compassion for people's feelings.
I clearly remembered what Vanessa said to me in the hallways of the hospital.
"Hey! You're Melissa's friend right?" Vanessa asked. I nodded, narrowing my eyes at her suspiciously. Why did she want to talk to me?
"Yeah... I'm Melissa's friend..." I said.
"Great! Come with me please, I need to tell you something about Melissa." She said. Vanessa grabbed my arm and dragged me towards the ugly green, waiting chairs.
We sat down in the chairs. Ugh, I wonder how many diseased or injured people have sat in this chair. I need to take a shower as soon as I get home.
"What about Melissa?" I asked. "Is she okay?"
"Yeah! She's fine. But I think you should know something. Melissa's been hiding this from you. It's quite horrid actually." Melissa said. I motioned for her to continue.
"You want to know the reason why Melissa warmed up to you instantly? Like after I dunno, thirty-six hours after you guys met?" Vanessa asked.
"No...but we were childhood friends so it was understandable we warmed up to each other instantly. It's because we were acquainted and we actually felt at ease around each other." I said.
"Nope! Melissa's using you." Vanessa said, popping the 'p' in 'nope'.
I was confused. Melissa's using me? What?
"What do you mean she's using me?" I asked.
"I mean, Melissa's using your looks and your friendship to benefit herself. She's using you and bragging about how you're her boyfriend and stuff. She's doing this for popularity." Vanessa said.
I shook my head, Melissa told me herself that she hated being bothered by people in the morning. Why would she become more popular only to be pissed off even more? It didn't make sense.
"Melissa wouldn't do that." I said.
"You haven't heard the full story. Melissa's a monster I tell you. A monster." Vanessa declared. What on earth was this bimbo blabbing about?
"Explain." I said.
"You know Melissa's twin brother Charlie right?"
I nodded.
