"No really, we're going to be here a while." Haley said talking into her phone.

Demi and her mom were still waiting in the parking lot although it was okay for them to leave.

"Haley, my mom won't leave until your mom or dad comes on the phone." Demi said.

"Fine." Haley agreed. "I'll go get one of them."

Haley quietly walked back into the living room where her parents were arguing. Mae grabbed the hem of Haley's shirt with her hand in a fist and trailed behind her older sister.

"Dad?"

"Yes Sweetheart."

"My friend's mom drove me here and she said she wasn't going to leave until you talked to her." Haley explained.

He nodded and stuck his hand out gesturing for the phone.

"Why didn't she want to speak to me?" Haley's mom asked.

"Well she said either one of you." Haley then said.

"Then give the phone to me." She said walking over to her ex husband.

He extended his arm out so she couldn't reach him and spoke into the phone. "Hello?"

Haley's mom was still trying to grab the phone from his hand but her dad just walked away.

"Yup, I have a car and I can drive the girls home." He said calmly even though he was lightly shoeing his hand at Haley's mother.

"I'll give you a call once the girls are home." He said. The kids mother had surprisingly backed off and quieted down.

"Yes. You have a good day too!" He said.

He ended the call and gave Haley her phone back.

"What's wrong with you? I'm her mother!" Haley's mom yelled.

"And I'm her father." He replied back with his voice calm.

Haley and Mae were still in the same room as them. She wondered why this was such a big deal. She didn't want Dianna to give her mom heck so she gave her dad the phone.

Haley's dad sighed. "You girls get ready to go." He said.

Mae walked over to the front door where her shoes were. She slid onto the ground and started velcrowing her little shoes.

"Mae. Why are you listening to him? Don't put your shoes on. We're not leaving yet." Her mom said.

"We're done talking." He spoke up again directing his words at Haley's mother.

"It's okay Sweetheart put your shoes on." He said.

Haley was right beside her younger sister but hadn't put her shoes on yet. She had a feeling the argument between her parents wasn't over.

"Haley you too. Let's go." He said. Hayley listened to her father.

He dug his car keys out from his pocket. "Let's go."

Haley and Mae walked out while Haley's dad held the door but their mother wasn't having it. She was still standing in the living room.

"Cmon the kids are ready and you're going to act like that." He said sighing.

"We're not done talking." She said relatively calm.

"Okay, baby." He said sacracstically. "Talk!" His temper rose. His foot was still holding the door open and the kids were still on the other side of it.

There was a moment of silence.

"You said you wanted to talk. So talk!" He said loudly losing his patience.

No one said a word. The room became silent once again.
