Fun fact: Lydia's favourite doctor was the ninth c;
Blake's POV
"So, you died and miraculously came back to life?" I asked Ben, not believing any of this shit.
"Exactly. I died and came back to life in the middle of a forest. I was just wandering when I came across this house and I remembered it as Alan's parents place," Ben explained.
"So... what's next for us?" Alan asked.
"Well, I'm going to do some cleaning because the kitchen is disgusting, and you guys can go do boy things or something," I said, putting on a pair of rubber gloves so I could start cleaning. Cleaning helped me forget about the crazy shit going on around me.
They all shrugged and made their way to the living room. There was no electricity so we just played cards and told stories.
"We're going exploring, Blake. Don't go anywhere, and we'll be back in an hour or so," Oli said as the three of them made their way outside.
I was washing dishes when I heard an all too familiar buzzing sound. I slowly looked up to see a Riganda on the window... on the inside.
I panicked. I wasn't thinking straight. I quickly brought my hand up and smacked the bug. Then I pulled the gloves off and through them on the floor. I just stood there and waited for it to come back. I was completely frozen, but the gloves didn't move.
After about five minutes of staring, I picked up the gloves and examined it. The bug was dead, and it wasn't coming back.
Rubber.
Seriously, we've gone through all of this fucking shit and rubber is what kills them.
I don't know anything anymore.
______
"Rubber?" Oli asked, not believing a word I was saying.
"Want to find out for yourself?" I shot.
"I think we'll take your word for it, love," Ben said with a chuckle.
"If you call me love one more time, I'm going to slap you so hard," I muttered through clenched teeth.
"It's a British thing," Alan murmured at the same time Ben said,
"Go ahead, I like it rough."
"I fucking hate you all," I muttered before going into my room and locking the door.
"We should just leave without her," I heard Alan murmur.
"C'mon Alan, you're not seriously that shallow, are you?" Ben asked, sounding surprised.
"Well, she's not helping us!" Alan exclaimed a little louder.
"She just told us what kills the damn bugs, Alan!" Oli countered.
"I think she should apologize for being such a dick, Alan," Ben said.
"You guys are seriously making me apologize? Ben is the one that made the fucking sex joke!" Alan asked, laughing hoarsely.
"Damn right."
Alan groaned and stomped over to my door. "Blake, open the goddamn door.""Brendon Urie says it should be closed," I shot, the sarcasm clear in my voice. I wasn't going to let him get through to me that quickly.
"If you don't open this fucking door, I'm going to beat it down."
I groaned and opened the door. He came in and closed it behind him. "Look, I'm sorry for being an asshole."
"That doesn't sound very genuine, Ashby."
"Do you want me to get on my fucking knees?" He snagged, his expressions becoming cold again. I enjoyed seeing him struggle.
I shrugged. "It wouldn't hurt..." I smirked.
"Ok... Blake, I'm really sorry about being such a dick, I really am. What I did to you in high school was uncalled for and I realize how stupid I was being. Don't hate me because I'm a sassy douche. I've been through a lot and this is how I... hide my emotions," he explained, his facial expressions soft.
I nodded in understanding. "Whatever. You're forgiven."
______
"You didn't finish my homework," Alan repeated, as if what I'd just told him was poison on his lips.
I shook my head, trying to hide my shaking. "I... I'm sorry. My dad died yesterday and I didn't have any time." I tried to hold back my tears because I missed my dad and I didn't want Alan to beat me up or do whatever male bullies do to girls.
"I don't give a fuck about your family," he muttered, pushing me against the locker. "That work was worth twenty percent of my final mark."
"Then why didn't you finish it yourself?" I asked, not meaning to be sassy in the slightest. It was a genuine question that I had always wanted to know.
"Do you know what I can do to you, Blake?" Alan muttered, his hot breath hitting my face.
I shook my head, feeling genuinely terrified.
"I love that look of terror in your eyes," he whispered, putting his lips on my neck.
"Please n-no," I stammered, my eyes watering.
"Don't cry, but just remember that next time you think you're going to put off my homework," he shot before letting go of me.
I crumbled to the floor in a fit of tears as he walked away.
I jolted out of bed, breathing heavily. Why was I being haunted with these horrible high school memories? When Mike was alive, high school was totally out of my mind. I wasn't associated with those memories in any way, shape, or form.
"You ok?" Ben murmured, sitting up as well. I hated having to share a bed with him, but in a way it was kind of comforting to know that I wasn't alone.
I shook my head, bringing my knees up to my chest.
His hand rubbed my back in light circles. "It sucks having night terrors, I know. It's horrible being haunted with those images of your dreams, even when you're awake. But it's over now. Just think of rainbows and chocolate ice cream and you'll be fine."
"Thank you, Ben," I whispered before falling back onto my pillow again. I sighed after trying to fall asleep but not succeeding. "Ben?"
"Yes, lo- Blake?" He asked, groggily.
"Remember what I said about me not wanting you to put your arm around me?"
He chuckled. "Of course I will," he said, putting his arm around my waist. "Now get some sleep."
"It's only for tonight," I clarified before letting sleep take over.
