Blake's POV

"How about we just forget about this stupid love triangle shit and remember that we're in an apocalypse and the time we have together is important," I heard Alan explaining upstairs when I woke up.

"Being an almost father has really turned you into a sentimental bastard, Ashby," Oli said in a teasing tone.

"The band days are over, I guess. Now I have to be there for Blake and be a father which I'm really not ready for. I'm nervous as shit but this conversation isn't about me. You guys seriously need to calm yourselves," Alan ranted.

"Look," Oli began to murmur something unintelligible and I was contemplating getting up and seeing what was up, but I was comfortable.

Alan started to protest but he was stopped. Everything was quiet besides a few footsteps. Suddenly, someone was coming downstairs and I quickly pretended I was sleeping.

"Blake? Are you awake?" Alan whispered.

"Now I am," I said, turning around to look at him. "Good morning, ginger princess," I forced a smile.

He chuckled. "Let's get out of here for a little while, what do you say?" He offered.

I nodded. "Where are we going?" I asked, yawning as I sat up.

"Well, there's a mall just down the road so we can be rebels and steal things," he smirked.

"Baby clothes!" I enthused.

"But we don't know the sex of the baby yet," Alan said with a pout.

"Um, it's called unisex clothing, idiot."

"Oh ok, Ms. Sassypants," Alan teased, sticking his tongue out at me.

I bit his tongue before standing up to go to the washroom and get cleaned up for the day.

When I was done getting ready, we went upstairs to see everyone playing cards and starting their boring day.

"Alan and I are going to the mall, anyone want to come with us?" I asked, intertwining my hand with Alan's.

Rachelle smiled. "Thanks Blake but we're just going to stay back here." She got up and suddenly gave me a hug.

"Don't worry, Shelle. I'll only be gone for a few hours," I said with a chuckle as I hugged her back.

Oli sighed from the couch. I knew he was having issues with Danny and Rachelle and I understood his struggles. He had the right to be a bit frustrated, I guess.

"Have fun at the mall, Blake," Matt said with a smile.

"Did you guys take a happy pill this morning or what?" I asked, chuckling a bit.

"Bye Blake," Danny said, opening the front door. "Have fun."

I chuckled. "Thanks Danny," I said, playing along as I went down to Alan's car. I got in the passenger seat and witnessed Danny and Alan hugging before Alan came to the car.

"What am I missing?" I asked when Alan started the car.

"Nothing. We've all kind of realized that we need to take less things for granted because you never know when they'll be gone."

I nodded, looking out the window at the deserted city. This was all I was used to now. Everything was empty.

"And here's the mall," Alan said, pulling into the parking lot. He parked right in front of the doors and grabbed some windshield wipers from the backseat before we made our way inside.

"Wow, it doesn't look like the rest of the world, that's for sure," I said when we went inside. It just looked like an ordinary mall, but there were no people in it.

"Please tell me you like shopping in Hot Topic," Alan said when we started walking around.

"I'm more of a Forever 21 girl but I don't mind some of their clothes. I should get a shirt with Mike on it and just wear it all the time to annoy you," I teased, seeing the store and going inside.

"We can do anything we want, Blake. We have this mall entirely to ourselves," Alan explained, looking at the band merch that lined the back wall.

I watched as he grabbed a Slipknot, Nivana and Arctic Monkeys shirt. Then he grabbed a Bring Me The Horizon sweater and Asking Alexandria bracelet before glancing towards me. "Free band merch," he said, holding up the shirts.

"I like this one," I said, looking at a Pierce The Veil sweater with all of their faces on it. Seeing Mike made me want to cry, but I held back the tears as I grabbed a sweater in my size and put it on.

Alan smiled at me before grabbing my hand and leading me towards another store. "There's one thing that I've always wanted to do..." he said, walking into Sears.

"Why are we in here?" I asked, letting him pull me down the aisle.

Suddenly we approached the section of the store where all of the beds were. Without another word, Alan let go of my hand and began jumping on the beds. He looked like a little kid as he jumped from bed to bed.

After making it around all of the beds, he jumped onto the floor beside me and breathed heavily.

"Was that fun for you?" I asked, laughing at his euphoric state.

"It was," he said, pulling me onto a bed with him. We just lied there and stared at the ceiling. It was perfect.

After we had done a lot of shopping, we finally made our way back to the house, I immediately knew something was wrong when there were no cars in the driveway.

I looked at Alan before undoing my seatbelt and getting out of the car. I went into the house to see a whole bunch of packed bags.

"Hey Blake, have fun on your date?" Jaime asked, dropping another bag.

"What's going on?" I asked.

"We're relocating. Rachelle, Danny, Matt and Oli have already made their way to the Canadian border. We're hoping things will be better in good old Canada," Jaime explained.

I nodded. "Is everything packed? Did Rachelle pack any medicine or something?" I asked.

"Everything will be fine, Blake," Vic reassured as he came downstairs. "The only thing you have to worry about is trying to fit the rest of us in Alan's car."

I nodded. "Well, let's go then. We don't want them getting to far ahead of us," I said, getting a bag and going back outside.

Once everything was packed up, Alan started the car and we began our journey to Canada.

"I've never been to Canada before, I hear it's-"

I was suddenly cut off by a loud explosion. I turned my head to see a giant cloud of smoke in the air in the far distance.

"They weren't on their way to Canada, were they?"
