Ascension (Sequel to Ruination)

[8] Soul

Events may not happen exactly as in the show because I haven't watched this arc in a year or longer possibly, I watched the arc so many times a while ago that I didn't even want to go back and watch it to make sure this was accurate. Too much pain and suffering. Both from watching Gaara be dead and having to watch it for maybe the millionth time.

Naruto paused when she said those two words. His whole body was frozen, he didn't move an inch. He even stopped breathing for a moment. Then, she felt it, she felt that evil chakra seeping to the surface. The nine tails' chakra. Yuzuki stepped back when she saw the anger in his deep blue irises, her hands going for some sort of protection against the wrath of the nine tails.

"You!" He growled, setting Gaara down and standing up. His fists were clenched tightly, but she could see his thumb nail was elongated and sharpened into a claw. "This is all you and the Akatsuki!" He spat, his eyes glowing crimson with his pupils turning into slits.

"N-Naruto, I'm sorry about Gaara. I'm upset that he's. . . gone, too. But the real enemy here is Deidara, remember? He's the one that killed him."

The dark haired girl watched, tingles running up and down her spine. She was waiting for him to attack her. She probably deserved it for not stopping this from happening, anyway.

He moved so fast she didn't have a chance to move out of harms way in time. His nails had raked against the skin of her arm as she tried to dodge out of the way. Yuzuki ran when she heard Kakashi yell for her to get away. As she fled from Naruto she could see Deidara moving to try and flee the scene, but Naruto had noticed him trying to escape and attacked.

She watched as the blonde tacked the Akatsuki member to the ground, sitting on his stomach and punching him repeatedly until blood was splattering everywhere. "More of his chakra is going to get unleashed if we don't do something," she told her father.

"I have something in case that happens. We have to get him and Gaara's body out of here."

Yuzuki opened her mouth to say something, but paused and turned to the spiky blonde haired boy. "Uh oh," she whispered, seeing that Deidara's body had turned to clay. It was a clone. Naruto was shaking with fury. And she could see the red chakra seeping up from his skin as he stood up. A tail grew from his rear and Kakashi and Yuzuki exchanged glances with each other.

She watched as Kakashi pulled out a little piece of parchment with a seal drawn on it. "How is that supposed to stop—well, that!" She pushed Kakashi out of the way as Naruto came at them, with two tails on his backside now.

"Use your chains and I'll place this on his forehead!" Kakashi ordered and she nodded at him dubiously. Whatever you say....

The girl bit her lip, and fell to her knees and slapped the palms of her hands to the ground. Chains launched from her back, and towards the angry blonde who was now consumed by the Fox's chakra. She dug her heels against the ground as Naruto struggled against the chains wrapping around his limbs, keeping him—and herself—in place.

She watched as Kakashi approached slowly, stopping whenever Naruto would start wriggling in his entrapment. He finally stood in front of the boy, his eyes gazing sadly at the boy's face that was riddled in despair. He was mourning a lost friend.

She could see as Kakashi heaved a long sigh, and placed the piece of paper on Naruto's forehead. A bright light shone from the seal, absorbing the dark chakra from his body.

The piece of paper burned into ashes, the remnants floating to the ground. She released the unconscious boy from her chains. Kakashi caught the boy in his arms, hoisting him up and over his shoulder. Yuzuki tensed when she heard rustling in the bushes, but relaxed when she realized it was the other leaf ninja. Neji, TenTen, Rock Lee, and Gai appeared from the luscious green. They seemed exhausted.
