Slightly Mature

You nocked the arrow in your quiver, squinting one eye, and imagined Kronos' head was on the bullseye. Exhaling with the release of your arrow, the arrow drove itself into the centre of the bullseye, which would have made Apollo proud. Grunting, you yanked the arrow out of the board for the 78th time. The entire place was empty, for summer was over and the demigods went back to their mortal lives. Not forgetting that most of them were either dead or at war with Kronos. Your parents didn't want you, and Chiron didn't want you out at the battlefield. He had to keep a skilled warrior back at camp.

Your eyes widened in surprise as a forceful hand covered your mouth and wrapped around your waist, lugging you to the corner of the woods, away from the camp. Twisting your arrow in your hand, you stabbed it at your captor's shoulder, in hopes he would let go. To your shock, he only grunted and continued with the same horrifying strength and stamina to drag you away from the camp. Trying to create as much noise as possible, you thrashed in his vice grip and shrieked as much as possible. However, you watched as the camp receded further back into the distance.

After a few minutes, you decided to save your strength and to plot an escape when your captor was weak. As of now, he clearly was stronger than you. After a few miles, hopefully? Not as much. You went limp in his grip sulkily, trying to remember the route he took.

"She's all yours. Though I don't see why you want to associate yourself with a bitch like her-" He turned around to talk to someone out of your sight and when he decided to so rudely use that word to describe you, you took that opportunity to thrash out of his grip and swing your fist at his nose. It connected with a satisfying crunch and it unleashed a gush of warm blood. You regarded the groaning boy with a sore fist but arrogant gaze but when you heard an all-too-familiar cold chuckle.

"Luke?" You couldn't believe it and utter shock paralysed you. He was here. "Go back to base, Leon," His scar trembled ever so slightly as a grin stretched across his face. When you were sure Leon was out of sight, you covered the distance between you and Luke fast and smacked him across his face. His face tilted to one side but he didn't bother look at your furious glare.

"You! " Your shrill voice echoed throughout the woods. Pulling your hair in frustration, you spun on your heel, refusing to look at his downcast face. He might just make you feel bad, he always had that power to make your heart sink. "You can't just disappear without telling me and then kidnap me and pretend like everything's fine! For Gods sake, Luke!"

He rested his chin on your shoulder and gently wrapped his arms around your waist. You flinched, remembering how you got abducted but resigned to your heart's will, relaxing in his figure. He combed your hair with his fingers, and murmured, "I'm so sorry, (y/n). But Kronos..."

You grumbled, lightly swaying in his embrace. Rolling your eyes, you turned to face him, "Kronos this, Kronos that... Are you ever going to give this hopeless ambition of yours up?" Luke peered deep into your eyes and responded sadly, "You know I can't." His face darkened. "You know I won't."

Sighing, you tried for a different tactic. An emotionally targeting one. You lightly touched his face and let your hand fall, tracing over his collar bone and resting over his heart. You mustered every bit of angst, desperation and misery that laid in your soul and croaked, "Can you do it for me?"

He seemed taken aback by your sudden display of vulnerability, but you put yourself out there just to make him come home. You saw his jaw twitch and he struggled to get the words out. "I - I - " His head jerked around, and a golden aura wrapped around his body, manipulating him to his will. He finally spoke, eyes coldly golden. "I cannot."

Tears brimmed on your eyes but you didn't care. You surged forward and crushed him with a hug and hugged him like there was no tomorrow. Who cares if you couldn't get him back? The golden aura vanished instantly, and Luke was back, his mind no longer manipulated by Kronos.

You pulled his face closer and pressed your lips against his. He melted into your embrace and roughly kissed back.Your lips collided and breaths exchanged, bodies brushing against each other. He pushed forward so that you back stepped. His hands snaked up and down your back, your hands curling and tangling in his hair.

Suddenly, your feet weren't on the ground. His hands curved under your bottom and you wrapped your legs tightly around his waist. After just a few delicate touches of his warm lips, your hands start to do his bidding. They will fall down his back as your head swims, all previous thoughts stopped in their tracks. His lips graze your neck, not in an innocent way. No. It's fiery, passionate and hungry, craving for love that he lacked and you burned with.

Both your eyes popped open in surprise, as Luke lost his balance and you fell to the ground. Luke landed on top of you, but managed to prevent crashing into your body. Giggles echoed through the silent woods, that seemed to watch the both of you. Your arms extended above your head and Luke held them there, supporting his weight and holding you captive. In a good way.

He pressed his body against yours, and your lips met again and again. An embarrassing moan escaped your lips as he nipped at your collarbone. Luke chuckled, his laugh resembling a lighthearted growl. You grinned against his lips and pulled him closer. Your hand ran underneath his shirt, fingers running down his spine. You hunted for his skin embarrassingly greedily, but you knew that this moment will neither come again or last long.

Only the gods knew how long it lasted. When you finally pulled away, you were whimsically breathless. You laid beside him peacefully, the passion and intensity long gone, and all that remained was a flickering tiny fire. Luke held your hand, gripping it firmly, as if he never intended to let you go.

You got to your knees, kneeling beside him and stroking his fair hair. You never knew when a time like this would come again, and you wanted to breathe and live every single last moment you had with him. He got up and kneeled beside you and started chatting up on random things.

Suddenly, you heard the snapping of twigs and crunching of leaves from the far distance. Somebody was coming and it wasn't Leon. Somebody from camp.

You roughly pushed for Luke to stand up, whispering, "Somebody's coming. About 30 seconds till they see us." Luke stood up abruptly, but he still held your hands. His face turned stony and he said, "I need to go." You tugged it sharply for him to sit down and pleaded, "Sit down. We can help you. Please." He bent down and planted a firm kiss on your lips and responded, "I love you so much, (y/n), but no one can help me." He backed away, hands slowly sliding out of yours, and when you heard the footsteps getting louder, you bit your lip and lowered your head. "Go."

You didn't have to look up to see that he had vanished long before Percy found you in the same kneeling position, tears trailing down your face. Wiping away your tears with the back of your hand, you sobbed as you turned to Percy who placed a hand on your shoulder, "He left me, Perc. He left me... and I will never get him back."
