Riley's POV
I lifted my shirt above my stomach, and glanced at the scar that ran across my lower abdomen. Tears prickled my eyes as I looked at it, but I held them back, willing myself not to cry for the second time since being in Kate's office. I heard the change room door open, and let my shirt fall, quickly wiping away the few stray tears that had fallen.
Miss Kate's POV
"Riley. My office." I said sternly as I walked into studio A. Riley looked over at me confusedly, but headed to my office like I had told her to. She entered my office behind me, and I closed the door, pointing to a chair. "Sit." I said, in the same stern voice. She nodded, looking slightly scared, and did so. I don't care if I'm scaring her, this is serious. "I found something in the girls bathroom today." I told her, folding my hands together and leaning back in my chair. "Do you happen to know what it is?" I questioned. She shook her head.
"No miss Kate." She answered. I nodded, licking my lips and leaning forward.
"I think it belongs to you." I said, looking her in the eye.
"Okay. What is it?" She asked curiously.
"I think you know." I answered, staring at her. Her face didn't change to worry or shock or any other emotion I thought it would, it instead continued to hold a curious one. I sighed, reaching into my pocket and pulling out what I had found. I held it in my hand, so it couldn't be seen, and placed it on my desk, screen up. When I removed my hand, and Riley's eyes had fallen to the item, she didn't appear to freak out, didn't worry. Instead, when her eyes fell on the two lines, they started to water. Her face held a look of disappointment and sadness. I didn't expect that. I looked at her, concerned now, my face softening. When she finally spoke after a long while, her voice was shaky.
"Tha-that's not mine." She spoke slowly and shakily, tears managing to escape and run down her cheeks. "I-I'm sorry." She added quickly, standing up and getting out of my office, and studio A, as fast as she could.Riley's POV
I looked to see Ella walk into the change room. "Everything alright?" She asked me, in her British accent. I nodded, scared I wouldn't be able to speak without balling my eyes out. "You seemed to get out of there quick." She said, sitting down on a bench.
"It was nothing." I told her, sitting beside her.
"What was it that made you so upset?" She asked me curiously.
"I don't wanna talk about it." I answered, never meeting her eyes.
"Oh come on. Whatever your dance teacher showed you can't be that bad." She continued, pushing to hear what it was.
"It was just a bad memory. That's all. I'm not going to share it though, so don't bother asking." I said. She shrugged.
"Okay. If you say so." She said, standing up and walking out of the change room again.Updates for this book may be more often than usual (if I remember) because I kinda got carried away and finished it already..... Hope you enjoy my new book!
