Riley's POV
I had been feeling better for the past few days, but it's the day of finals, around 6am, and I'm crouched in the washroom, trying to be as quiet as possible. I was sick. Everything I had eaten for dinner last night, I had just thrown up. I rested against the bathtub, closing my eyes and breathing for a few minutes. Despite having just vomited, I still felt sick to my stomach. A gentle knock on the bathroom door caused me to open my eyes. "Riley?" Michelle's voice called quietly.
"Yeah?" I responded.
"Let me in." She told me sternly. I sighed, standing and opening the door. She looked around the washroom, noticing the bottle of anti-nausea medicine I had pulled out of my bag, but not yet taken. "You're still sick?" She inquired, a sigh mixed in. I nodded, biting my lip and looking down. "Okay, get dressed, brush your hair, get ready. I have a plan." Michelle smiled.
"Is your plan gonna help me get better before the finals round today?" I asked, crossing my arms and raising my eyebrows.
"No, but it's a good plan. Just hurry up and do what I told you." She said sassily, before walking out of the washroom to grab her clothes.••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Kate's POV
It was 7:38 as I watched as Giselle and Stephanie exit the elevator, talking quietly as they made their way over to where I stood with the rest of A troupe. We were only missing 2 more people. "Where's Riley and Michelle?" I asked, gaining their attention.
"They weren't in the room when we woke up. We supposed they'd already gotten ready and come down." Giselle explained.
"Okay." I sighed. We were supposed to leave for breakfast almost 10 minutes ago now, but everyone's late. One of the rules was to be on time for everything, clearly no one listened. I'll just text everyone the rules next time. "I guess we'll go to the restaurant and they can meet us there." I decided. The restaurant was only in the hotel, it wasn't that big of a deal that we were going without everyone.
"I'll text them." Stephanie said, pulling out her phone. We all entered the restaurant, sitting at our normal, reserved table. It wasn't until the waitress was giving the last person their food, that Riley and Michelle came tumbling into the restaurant, almost 45 minutes late. I can understand 5 or 10 minutes, but 45?! They silently sat in the two vacant seats, keeping their heads down, obviously hoping to avoid questions. I chose to stay out of the matter, might as well not make a scene in the restaurant, and just shook my head, before beginning to eat my eggs Benedict. At least they weren't late for the competition.••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
James's POV
I smiled at Riley as we watched Sweden perform. They were scary good, but I think our concept is more creative. I looked over Riley again. I might be biased, but she definitely looked the hottest. I watched her smooth out her dress, obviously feeling uncomfortable. I grabbed her hand, pulling her towards me. Riley looked up at me, her brows furrowed in confusion. "Stop worrying. You're beautiful." I whispered to her. She smiled a small smile, seeming unconvinced, looking down at her dress again.
"It just feels really tight." She told me, but I shook my head.
"It just makes you look hotter." I responded. She smiled, before I heard Kate, breaking us out of our moment.
"Get in your starting positions!" She called, and we all hurried onstage.
