Gerard and I have been standing here, embracing each other for a while now. It felt extremely pleasant to feel liked, maybe even loved soon. Since we basically have a mutual attraction going on here, does this mean we're... well dating?
"Umm... Gerard?"
"Yes, Eden?" he asked, stroking my cheek softly.
I felt my face heat up as I began to speak. "Ah... does this mean we're, umm... you know..."
His eyes widened as he realized what I was trying to say. He gave me a smirk that made my heart skip a beat.
"Well, that hasn't even crossed my mind. All I knew was that I really liked you... but, we can be a couple, only if you want-"
"Yes," I said a little too eager. I had jumped in. I blushed and looked down.
"Sorry, I uh..."
Gerard just chuckled at me as I began to become more and more uncomfortable, but for some reason, it didn't bother me.
"It's okay. Anyways, now that we're a couple, shall we schedule a date later in the week?"
I don't think I could've been more happier with what just came out of his mouth. I had to play it cool, though, make him believe I'm not completely obsessed or something. Like I said, when I get attached to something, I never want to let it go.
"Yes, I'd like that a lot," I stated, a small grin pulling at my lips. "What's today? So you know, we can think of a good time and place to meet and all."
"Today is Tuesday, so maybe Thursday? And for what we should do for the date... I'll surprise you. But dress casual, I already have a place in mind."
I couldn't stop the grin from turning into a full-on smile, this was really happening!
"Oh, and Eden?" he asked, a bit more serious this time. I looked up at him to study his facial expression. I couldn't quite put my finger into how, exactly, he was feeling.
"Yes?"
"When will you introduce me to Lynda...?"
I took in a deep breath, and let it out, "as far as Lynda is concerned, it's not really her business. I'll tell her when I'm ready."
Gerard just nodded, not fully understanding, I assume.
"Okay, I guess. So, what should we do now?" he asked.
"Well, we could go to this little cafe that's different from that Starbucks we'd always go to," I replied.
Gerard nodded and we began to walk. He suddenly grabbed hold of my hand, sending shivers through my spine. It was different from how Lynda and I held hands when we first met. Gerard's touch feels warm and safe, it gives me tingly feelings and it feels like heaven. On the other hand, Lynda's touch felt intimidating, it didn't exactly feel like I was getting proper help. Her touch felt a bit warm, but I was more scared than ever back then. Every time Lynda talks to me it feels like I'm trapped, it feels like I'm being tested. When I talk to Gerard, though, I feel so relaxed, I feel everything I say doesn't matter. When I converse with Lynda it feels like when I talk there are wrong answers, and I'll be ridiculed.
I squeezed Gerard's hand and blushed slightly. We really weren't saying anything at all, that is, before he decided to lean towards me and kiss my cheek. He stayed like that for a little while, my blush turning into a deeper red by the second.
"Ge-Ge-Gerard..." I whispered, fiddling with my fingers. He had a little blush going on himself.
"Sorry," he chuckled, grabbing both my hands and pulling me closer. "I just really like you," he mumbled, blushing deeper. His blush was making my heart melt, because oh, he was so adorable!
