JEROME'S POV
It had been 5 long hours since I had seen Mitch's torn body laying on the cobblestone slats of the town plaza. Without him beside me, the room I was sitting in was dimly cold and empty. I search my mind for an image of him, his warm laugh and beautiful eyes... Without thinking about it, I nudge the couch next to me with my foot, it jolts forward crashing into the fragile wall behind it with a displeasing crunch.
Surely Ashley would know what to do, but she wasn't here. She had flown out yesterday, working with that charity of hers to help heal the abandoned orphans in Africa.
Slowly, I trudge outside and my eyes start to well with tears. In my head flashed the cold dead body of my best friend. In so many ways he was more than just my best friend, I loved him in ways I couldn't describe with words. If he was gone then what was the point of me being alive?
I never really had believed in heaven or reincarnation, but for the first time in my life I hoped to whoever was out there that it was real.
In a way it was my fault, I could have handled it but instead I watched helplessly. So much for being given a power if all I did with it was kick couches.
SETOSORCERER'S POV
I knew how to get him back but time was running out and I needed only one thing, something that only Mitch knew properly, something or someone that he would risk his life for. That's how the potion worked. Then it occurred to me, obviously! Stupid Seto.
Mitch had already gave his life for someone he knew. Jerome. The only thing was that even if Jerome had managed to not shoot himself by now, how could he have known that the purple flames engulfing Mitch weren't an attack but more like a virus, like having a positive cold. Easily curable. As well as Jerome, some of the fans were extreme. I bet if I looked hard enough I could find someone willing to sacrifice their life for Mitch. The fans would love the ship to sail. In fact they would eventually tear the channel apart if it wasn't real. I had predicted it.
I dash into my cove, flicking on the emergency alert lights as I pass the hooded entrance.
The library was organised so it was easy to find the book I was looking for but the pages were ripped, it was too old. I threw the book into the teleported and warped into a room that looked like it had been through hell and back. The sofa had crashed through the wall and the only bit left of the bed was a half trashed wooden frame. Jerome had been here.
Edit 11.11.18
