???'s POV

He did not yet know it, but the fate of the universe rested with him. It was my job to watch him. I watched him as he failed time and time again at what he called a hunger games. The souls inside me moaned at me everyday to die in a hole. The sorcerer's was silent, I couldn't tell what the abomination had done to him but I could tell that he would never speak again. I deserved to die in a hole, I couldn't survive without other people's precious life energy.

I was what they called 'A reject', meaning human gone wrong. It didn't happen to many but when it did, the consequences were unbearable. At the age of 14 I murdered my family out of pure madness. At 17, I got angry at my girlfriend, lost control and devoured her soul. Now, I stay in the shadows, hoping that this curse will finally end.

ASHLEY'S POV

It had been over half an hour. The dashing young man who called himself Brice 'Spicey' Cassell was not there. Even if he could fly, he wasn't very fast at it.

"Hey Ashley!" A voice called cheerily from above me.

"Solace! Where the flip were you?"

"Y'know, being awesome and saving the world!"

"Pfft. You? Yeah right."

He landed and took my hand.

"Where do you wanna go?"

"You know, I've always wanted to go to London."

Before I knew it, I felt my feet lift off the ground.

"Eep!"

He giggles

"Woah. I need to get used to this." I laugh.

It's been a quarter of an hour and the candyfloss like clouds fly in my face. I can see thousands of bright lights below me and an old, tall clock tower. Figures fly around beneath us, chatting and socialising as we come nearer to the ground. He lands on top of a palace sort of thing and I gasp.

"Wow! This looks really old fashioned."

"Ashley, we've been friends for 10 years now and I think I'm in love with you. You're my everything."

Just then, he leans forward and kisses me.

A nearby big screen switches from the news to showing us kissing on the roof as we realise that a crowd has formed near us.

"I think they like us." I whisper

JEROME'S POV

I pondered over what the mysterious psycho had said. The gold clock was probably some piece of crap from some random place.

No. The stranger had been very much real, he had an atmosphere about him that was eerie and wasn't fake. I heard a yawn and I turned around to see the person I loved waking up. Most humans were pretty ugly, I thought, but now really saw it this anomaly was undeniably beautiful.

"Bet you I'll win this round." I say confidently

"Haha! You're on."

We start our recordings and enter the hunger games.

"Hey doods! It's Mitch or BajanCanadian here along with Jerrroomme!"

"Wooooo!"

The countdown begins.

"3, 2, 1, GO! And may the odds be ever in your favour!" The speaker announces.

We rush towards the middle chests and I manage to get one diamond and a raw fish.

"Towards the Windmill!" I shout over the clanking of swords and armour.

We meet there in a matter of 30 seconds and parkour up to the top where we stack our inventories full of food. There are no weapons.

"Damn."

"Never mind buddy, the village ahead of us is stacked."

20 minutes pass, the deathmatch has not started and we are getting restless.

We have stone swords and decent armour but we have seen no one.

"D-match should have started by now."

"Maybe it's the server lagging out."

10 more minutes pass.

"Seriously. When the hell is deathmatch?"
