JEROME'S POV
It seemed like days, reliving my past in a state of limbo. Whatever the heck that meant. I should be thankful that he came but I'm not. The day of homecoming, everyone loved him. He never really wanted popularity, or so he said.
Watching him kiss Jessica Banks on a stage in front of 3000 people hurt so much inside. The sweet homecoming crown glittered on top of his head as people literally screamed their hearts out in adoration.
Then he came.
I could see him coming from 100 metres away. Nobody else seemed to notice the hooded stranger pushing through the crowd. He was getting closer and I panicked. My body stood frozen as he stopped in front of me.
"You know who I am. You know what I would do. Do you know what's happening?"
I shook my head and looked him in the eyes. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a golden clock on a chain.
"You will know what to do with this. Keep it, you will need it in the distant future. Save him. Save us all."
And then he was gone. The far away stage faded away and I was awake. I laughed and then gasped as I saw the gold clock hung around my neck. 'Save us. Save us all.'
Mitch had made me unconscious but I was just waking up... The cloudy orange sky is a haze above me and I know there is something I need to do, somewhere I need to go
Wondering what the strange guy had said, I got up and ran back home. What had I just experienced?
SKY'S POV
Slowly but surely, everything was fine again. We kept the secrets from Husky and Ty and everything was normal. Mitch had lost faith in any sort of power he had and had sworn on Notch that even if he got everything back that he would not explode or do anything involving angering anyone. Jason and the Mudkip were an official couple and now slept in the same room.
Since the incident with Seto, the sorcerer had gone missing. We had searched the scene for any clue at all to what had happened but only found a cloak and a mess of charred ashes on the floor, leftover from the explosions. Team Crafted had filed a missing persons report but Mitch and Jerome had stayed out of it, the wounds still too fresh for them.
Recently I had read everyone's minds but it was so clear, Jerome and Mitch were not talking about something and that mattered. Sometimes they would look at each other as if to say 'I love you' but then turn away as though they had never met.
The time slipped away like sand.
1 day.
2 days.
1 week.
2 weeks.
1 month.
MITCH'S POV
It was December 19th and I had not brought Jerome a Christmas present yet. Sky had told me that he in return Jerome had something good planned, and refused to tell me anything more.
Ashley had come back from Africa 2 weeks ago and had gained a 'slight tan'. Brice and her had become way more than the awkward couple, they had managed to become an internet phenomenon after someone caught them on camera flying over London together. Snogging.
In other news, my YouTube channel had rocketed to over 2,000,000 subscribers with just 2,000 less than Jerome's over the month of December. Something told me that however hard he tried to act irritated, he might have been proud of me. The past few Hunger Games we had recorded, he had been letting me win. He could have overpowered me easily with his strength but every time we came close to it he'd make some excuse like he was tired an didn't want to fight me.
Well I couldn't say anything about it. I couldn't say anything about the kiss either, or the purple flames. I couldn't even think about them.
I was lounging on the small window couch in the downstairs lounge, searching idly on my phone for possible presents, the clock read 5 and everyone in the house had gone home to their families in the run up to Christmas so the house was pretty much empty. The only people left in the house were me, Jerome and Jason.
Jerome and I both knew the consequences of going to our parent's houses with both of our fathers still living there.
Jason was here purely to prepare the house again for Husky's arrival on the 23rd, both had been Skyping each other every day without fail.
A sound from my left shakes me from my dazed, electronic trance. The door creaks open and a semi-clothed Jerome emerges into the lounge holding a pint glass of water. I begin to shrink back into the couch as he moves past me without noticing I am even here.
The small towel hanging over his shoulder would usually have covered more, I could have sworn it covered more. The sofa suddenly seems very welcoming once more as he turns around to open the fridge, revealing a small flash of his chest. I screw up my eyes but the image is still there.
My attempts to snuggle deeper into the sofa are quickly crushed, my back hits the hard backboard making a loud thump. I stop, my chest pounding but he doesn't flinch.
Without warning, Jerome takes a deep breath in and puffs it all back out in a despairing sigh. He turns to look at me, I hear my heart skip a beat. Then he speaks,
'Mitch, can I ask you something?'
'Yeah, anything.' I say sheepishly.
'Will you come to dinner with me?'
