*ALARM BELL RINGS*
"Summer, get up! You'll be late for school!" shouted my mom from the kitchen.
I groaned, struggling to get out of my bed. I tried thinking of good things that might happen today. I rubbed my eyes and yawned, then finally I decided to get out of bed and make a fresh start to the day.
"Did you have a good sleep?" asked my mom while she was frying eggs on the pan.
"Yeah, thanks for asking" I said.
I saw my little sister Melody, who is 9 years old now. (her birthday was a few weeks ago).
"Hey Mel." I said.
"Hiya!" she said back to me.
My sister, is a morning person unlike me. She always gets up at 6 am to watch her favorite shows while I am still in my bed snoozing.
"I have something to say and it will change your life a bit. Your father and I have been talking about this and we have agreed. No buts, you will have to agree with what I say." said my mom.
Mel and I nodded as we ate our toast.
"Your father and I are going to adopt some children. 2 girls and 1 boy. One of the girls are in the 9th Grade, and the other girl is in kindergarten. The boy is in the 6th Grade and he is the same age as you Summer." my mom said.
"SIBLINGS!" Mel and I looked at each other. We were squealing because we realised in the family there would be 7 people. We were really excited, and happy. Since we were moving into a bigger house, now I know why mom and dad bought a house with 6 bedrooms.
"We will be picking them up after school, and surprisingly, those kids go to your school. Which is very convenient for your dad and I." My mom said.
My sister and squealed again.
"You two better eat your breakfast, or else you will be late!" my mom said as she walked in to her room.
