Chris' POV

"Have we been gone for three days or three months?"

Jonny seemed as overwhelmed by the pile of work waiting for us when we came back home as I was.

"Well, that's what I told you."

I regretted saying those words right away because we both knew how much we needed that break.

"But it was so worth it."

Jonny shot me a knowing look back and Guy rolled his eyes.

"I think we need to talk about these things somewhere else Jay, Guy still isn't mature enough to see us together."

It was just too hilarious to tease Guy, he could be so sensitive. He ran over to me and pretended to want to punch me. We were all dying of laughter until we remembered Phil was around as well.

Our secret fifth member cleared his throat and had to remember us once again what we were here for.

"Come on guys. We're not at the studio for childish jokes right now. The condition I let you two go on your little vacation was that we'd work extra hard afterwards. We'll be in real trouble if we don't get all this stuff done soon.

We all obeyed and started working.

A few hours later we reached the same point we had already been at many times before.

"I think it's still missing something. I don't know... Don't you think we need at least one song that sounds a bit more cheerful? You know like something people could dance to, like a relief after all the hard times - I mean after listening to so many serious and deep songs."

They all looked back at me pretty unsure and concerned.

Will was the first to break the silence.

"I know what you mean, but where are we gonna get a song like that from now? I don't think any of the demo material could do for a cheerful song and we don't have enough time left to start something completely new."

"I have no idea..."

I looked at Jonny who was strangely quiet and seemed lost in his thoughts.

"Everything okay Jay?"

"Yeah... I just had an idea. Would you mind going outside with me for a few seconds?"

Guy of course couldn't shut his mouth once again.

"Oh come on, I know you're awfully in love and can't keep your bodies apart for a few hours but we have really important things to do!"

I pinched Guy in the arm.

"Ouch!"

"Sorry, I didn't mean to destroy your perfect skin."

That earned me an angry look from Guy, he hated me making jokes about his handsomeness, especially when we were on stage... Which of course made it even more enjoyable with all the fans laughing along.

Will seemed pretty annoyed by our childish behavior.

"Can't you three behave like normal grown-ups for a few hours?"

"The point is, I need to talk about something with Chris and it's about the album. So would you mind giving us just a few minutes?"

Everyone agreed and I wondered what it was that had to do with the album that Jonny couldn't tell me in front of the others.

Seconds later we were standing outside The Bakery facing each other. I patiently waited for Jonny to spit out what he had to say.

"So uhmm..."

Jonny looked around, unsure how to start obviously.

"What idea did you have?"

"Well, you said you didn't have any ideas for happy songs and we might not have recorded it but do you remember that night while we were on holiday with Apple and Moses?"

Of course I remembered that night, Jonny didn't need to specify it. The first time feeling Jonny's lips on mine, tasting his mouth... The beginning of everything, something that was doomed to become stronger every time we touched.

"Of course I do, how could I ever forget? But what does that have to do with the album?"

"Then you sure recall how we ended up in that... situation."

"Yeah we were paying that pian-"

Suddenly I realized what Jonny was getting at. My mood and face instantly lit up.

"Oh of course! I played some song before we kissed! But do you think it was that good?"

"Totally! I'm pretty sure its wasn't only the look in your eyes that made it seem so perfect..."

Jonny stared at my eyes while he said those words and I couldn't help staring back. They were so beautiful, so pure and innocent but curious at the same time.

"Do you still remember how to play it?"

I tried to recall the melody and unfinished lyrics in my mind. I was pretty sure they were still there. I could never entirely forget a good song.

"Yes, I think I do! Let's go inside and show the others!"

Jonny was about to enter the studio when I stopped him again.

"Wait! One thing. Could we maybe avoid telling them the exact situation I came up with this?"

"Yeah of course! Did you think I wanted Guy making fun of how cheesy it was for the rest of our lives?"

We both laughed. Guy's attitude towards our relationship could be equally as funny and annoying at times.

***

A few hours and hundreds of demo takes later I finally let my exhausted body drop onto my bed.

The others had liked the song as much as Jonny, which had seemed really awesome at first. Maybe now we could actually bring Ghost Stories to a point where it felt completed to me.

But I had soon realized what coming up with a completly new idea so late in the progress also meant.
We would have to work really hard on just that one song if we somehow wanted to finish it halfway in time.

But with all of our enthusiasm for it I guessed it would be worth it. Well, I hoped.

A/N: Lol sorry I know the name of the chapter doesn't really fit but I couldn't think of anything else so if you have a better idea let me now.

I know this chapter is pretty short and probably not that good, sorry. It's just kind of a gap filler, I tried to fit the next events into this but it would have been awkward. But I'll try my best to get the next chapter up soon!
