"This is Talia, she is from a neighbouring pack and she is my mate." Thunder stated. I studied Talia suspiciously. She coward back a bit, unsure of my level of threat. Thunder growled lightly and I backed away slightly. "This is Shadow, the runt. She has proven her worth in tracking and scouting skills. Do not fear her," he spoke softly to her. I looked at him in amazement, this was the most compassion he had show any being and it seemed completely alien for him to act like this.

He caught my eye and I quickly averted my gaze. "I am Snow" my sister said passively as she walked in front of me, faking friendliness. "Sadly the same can not be sad for our sister" I said, jumping out of Snow's reach. she chased me to the edge of the trees. I melded in with the darkness and she couldn't see where I was. Talia nervously looked at Thunder who shook his massive head. "I haven't finished yet sisters," annoyance obvious in his voice as he sat down at the cave entrance.

Snow tried to keep an air of dignity as she walked over to Thunder. I slunk slowly toward them, still under the cover of the trees. "we must discuss what is to happen now that i have found my mate," Thunder started, knowing that i could hear him. "i needed to know if you wish to join Talia's pack or if you would rather stay as it is now." I Walked out of the dark and into the moonlight. I would not stay with just my sister, but neither could i go off as a lone wolf, i wasn't strong enough for that. "I shall follow you again brother but I will not stay forever,' I said laying down in front of him.

Snow's face slightly furled, i wasn't sure if it was because of what i said or if she was still annoyed by my earlier comment or maybe something else? i shook my head, i was reading to much into it. "i will not follow behind you brother, not any longer. I will join the pack to the west," she spoke with such defiance my hackles rose. Thunder roared in response, rising to tower over her and show his domiance, Talia shrinking behind him. I was on my feet and at my brothers side in a heart beat.

Snow snarled before darting off to the west. "if you see her again tell me or if the oppitunity arises take her down," my brother growled lowly. i made a move to follow her bbut he tugged my ruff. I lower myself down slightly and looked at the ground around my brother's feet. he knew by my stance i would shadow him instead to meet my new....'pack'.

When we arived in the teritory I instictivly stuck to the shadows, they made me more confortable. The scents of the pack where brought to my nose on the breeze. All five scents were there. Now it would be a pack of seven.

i melted back behind my brother, to show I mean no threat. We arrived at the clearing soon after. Four wolves circled around us, two old, two young. They seemed unsure about me.

"Is this you're sister Thunder? May I ask where is the other one?"An old male spoke directly to my brother. He was a dark reddish colour. I studied his stance, it showed he was alpha of this pack, but the stance was relaxed in a way that showed that my brother was now equal if not higher than him.

"Rex this is the runt, Shadow." Thunder spoke in an even tone as he stepped aside so I could move forward. I reluctantly moved forward, one step at a time, to stand in front of the elder. I kept a low stance to show my respect of his position. The other wolves had fanned out behind 'Rex'.

"I am Rex, previous alpha of the Lightning pack, your brother is the new alpha. This is Skylar, she was Luna before Talia,"a blueish roan wolf stepped up beside Rex and slightly inclined her head before returning to her spot behind Rex. "These two sisters are Storm and Cara, our hunters," the other two wolves stepped up, the first was dappled gray and her sister was a grey with brown mixed in.

They stepped back again, watching me intently. "Shadow, we would like to welcome you to our pack, you will be our scout and tracker a well as one of our hunters,"Rex finished softly. I rose to my full height and viewed my had before slinking into the shadows.

I heard my brother explain my actions and spoke for me, saying I was honoured to be in the pack, blah, blah, blah. Truth be told, I hated this because it meant I would have to deal with other wolves and apart from attacking wolves that weren't my kin, I had never interacted with others.

I ran through the forest, it was my forest now, the forest of my pack. Strangely that thought comforted me. I remarked the borders, to show other packs that our land had expanded. This is a beginning of what seems like a new life, a very different life.

I pondered on what it would hold for me as I lopped back to the river. Once again I sat at it's edge and just watched the skies reflection in the water that rippled ever so often from the water bugs skimming on the surface.
