ShadowThunder kept asking me what happened, his view was obscured by the smaller structure. I haven't spoke a word since I talk with the shifter wolf. I got up and walked to Thunder, nudging him, "I am going back and staying for a while at those structures. I will return and I promise I will tell you everything I learn. Cara is the more stealthy of the two hunters and can update you on news about Snow. Goodbye for know brother," I spun around and ran full speed towards the south.
I wasn't sure if he understood and I hoped he would see this was something that would benefit us, not that I was abandoning him. Stopped at the edge of the forest watching. The wolf creature had said at night time but I couldn't wait that long, I had to learn all that he could teach before my sister could do anything. I believe she plans on crushing the lightning pack, that would show my brother that she was strongest, in her eyes anyway.
The sun was just rising, one of the perfect times for hunting. Considering how much time I had, I decided to hunt, maybe he will be as well. I trotted back into the forest a bit, sniffing every here and there for a game trail. After a short time I finally found the fresh scent of a small rabbit. My hunting instincts took control and I began to subconsciously kept in shadows that concealed me for my prey. The loud morning calls of birds drowned out any sound I made.
The scent was strong and filled my nose. I was crawling on my stomach when I spotted it two strides from me. The ignorant little rabbit was nibbling at a patch of yellowing grass and didn't even seem to take in it's surroundings. A fatal mistake on it's behalf. I lept atop of the rabbit, digging my fangs into it's small neck, crushing it quickly. No point in keeping it in unnecessary pain, a small mercy.
The rabbit was a meagre meal, it was and fur and nearly any meat. It had begun to snow while I was sorting out fluff from food. The snow started later in the season here, compared to the almost constant snow in the north. It had snow once before while we had been here and that snow was only light and had quickly melted, as if the seasons couldn't decide whether to turn or not.
The snow gradually got heavier as I walked back through the forest to the treeline, leaving the rabbit carcass far behind. Younger beings that in slight resembled the creature I had spoken to last night walked around on two legs, one of them holding a strange branch with a flat shiny head at one end. I watched as he began heaving it up in the air, then bringing it down into a thistle, uprooting it and moving on to the next. Behind the first, the other one picked up the thistles and put it in a strange thing with a square bowl shape in the middle that moved on circles and had two sticks jutting out of it. As I watched the creature got behind the sticks and pushed, making it move forward.
I watch fascinated by these things they used and soon the sun was in the highest point in the sky. A female of their kind called and they walked towards a medium sized structure, leaving the objects where they were. After a time I went cautiously over to the things and sniffed at them. They were curious things. I took in every detail I could before I heard the creatures approaching again. The forest was to far so I ran into one of the structures, arriving just as the creatures went back to work.
The inside of the structure was smaller closed off structures that lined the walls. As I moved I saw that only three of the box like structures held more animals. They were big and for legged, rating on their hind legs and stomping as well as making loud, threatening noises. Quickly I ran the the other end of the place and hid behind wooden boxes. The creatures came into the building and calm the other animals, talking soothingly to them before checking for what had caused they distress.
They came slowly closer and close checking everything as they went. I was trapped. The back of the structure held no opening to escape through. I backed up into something and it grabbed me. I was about to attack when I saw the shape changing wolf from last night, he was in his two legged form. He pushed me into a box and covered me with a funny smelling hide. I stayed stock still a they began to converse in their strange tongue.

AshThe horses started up a commotion and the milking cow was kicking at it's stable door. The twins came rushing in and calmed the animals quickly. I had been preparing some hides for next week when all of this happened. Then the she-wolf ran into my legs. Quickly I grabbed her scruff. Bad move. She turned and almost took my hand off, stopping when she saw it was me. Close call, too close! I uttered her into a box quickly and covered her with a hide I was working on.
"Did you see what upset the horses and the cow?" Ted asked approaching me. I shrugged and replied, ""if there was anything here it isn't now or it would be cornered and easy to find." That was enough for them and they began to search things here and there. They made to look at the hides behind me but my glare stopped them in their tracks. Without an other word they turned and left.
I pulled back the hide so the she-wolf could climb out. She looked at me and sat at my feet. I looked down at her and returned to working, she could wait a little longer. After awhile she laid down and fell to sleep. She was hours early and would cause problems if anyone saw her. Huffed and tried to focus on the rabbit hide before me, scrapping downwards to get rid of most of the sinew.
I had to milk the cow soon so Scarlet could bake one of her cakes, soon she would be moving into town to work in the baker's. She was pretty good at it too and wanted to run her own inn one day. I knew she would make a fine job of it too. An idea dawned on me and I grabbed a leather thong from the pile and crouched before the wolf. I had to shift so she would be able to understand.
the strange sensation crawled across my skin as I shifted, it started on my back speed to the rest of my body. My clothes hang strangely off my furry hide. The she-wolf woke and watched as I changed, "how do you shift your skins? It is unnerving and yet very interesting." her voice was full of curiosity and was quite pleasing to listen to. " I don't really know how I shift I just do, but we can talk more later, I have things I must do. I stuffed to ask if I could put a strip of leather around your neck, that way my family will think your someones dog who got lose and won't get suspicious about you walking around," I explained.
The she-wolf sighed and agreed. I shifted back to my natural form and slowly tied the leather around her neck. She growl unhappily but did nothing more. I snapped another piece of leather and touted it onto the makeshift 'collar', to give the appearance that she had broken free. She eyed me but allowed me to tie it on.
I stood back to admire my work before walking over to the cow's stall, motioning the she-wolf to sit away as to not frighten the animal. She hid in the shadows and I all but lost sight of her, despite how close she was. It was going to be a long and interesting day.
