***Real quick before I begin the new chapter I have changed The brothers name from Sean to Derek for reasons. Just didn't want you guys to get confused!***

"Are you ready to meet your brother?" Severus asked. I looked at him for a moment. I didn't quite know the answer to that question. Of course a part of me wanted to meet one of the only living relatives I have left, but the other part of me knew by introducing Derek into my life he would be in danger from this point on. I was about to single handedly destroy his life and I wasn't even trying.

   "I suppose."

"Alright. Come on. He's waiting for us in my office. Now remember. The Order set it up for him to come here. The Story the boy told me was that he had recently discovered he had a sister here and wanted to attend to get to know her as he finished school. He sees me as everyone else does. A criminal. A murderer. As far as he knows I have nothing to do with this and you must keep it that way." I nodded. The walk seemed never ending. With every step my heart rate grew until I felt it may burst out of my chest. We reached that stair case I knew all too well. I hated it now. I hated anything that reminded me of Grandfather. Finally, we were at the doors. Behind those doors was the brother I never met. The brother I never knew anything about. "Ready?" I nodded slightly and Severus opens the doors.

Standing there before me was a monster of a man. He was tall. Easily 6"6. Possibly taller. Very muscular and large. He had soft brown hair and blue eyes. He had my eyes. There was a resemblance. Not a huge one, but it was there. He seemed to be looking me up and down too and noticing the very same things. When he did finally speak he had a heavy Russian accent.

   "Headmaster, this is her?"

"Obviously." Severus did his signature eye roll and walked to his desk. "Ms. Dumbledore will show you around. You two can catch up on the seventeen years you missed and sulk in your sob story. Now go. Your first class starts in twenty minutes. Do not be late."

"Yes, Headmaster." I said sarcastically and walked out with Derek. Once we were walking down the hallway I looked at him, not knowing what to say, so I blurted out the first thing that came to mind.

"Welcome to Hogwarts. I know it's different from what you're used to, but I think-" Derek cut me off.

"Listen. I am here to protect you. So this bullshit war can end. That is it. I don't want to be your friend, your brother, or your charity case. As far as I'm concerned we are not family. You are a stranger I must keep alive. That is all." I listened and nodded.

"Fine with me. Good luck with that, by the way. There's a lot of people who want me dead." I pulled an apple out of my bag and took a bite out of it as we headed down the hall. This would be fun.

"What happened to you anyway? You look like a bruised Frankenstein doll. Those scars look fresh." Of course he spoke about the scars running up my neck to my face and the bruises that covered my face. The ones Bellatrix so kindly put there last night. The rest of my body was covered. I tried to conceal as many scars and bruises as I could. I wore long sleeves so the dark mark wouldn't show. That was the last thing I needed.

"You're here to protect me now. You can't change what has already happened so there's really no need for you to know." I said taking another bite.

"If someone is trying to kill you or harm you I need to know."

"I'm not really aware of anyone that wants to kill me right at this moment. Harm me? Every death eater alive. So there you go."

   "That narrows it down."

"Glad I could help." I stopped and faced him. "I am warning you. Protect me, do your job, whatever. But if you get in the way of what I have to do you will die. I have an agenda. I will not spare you to keep it from being completed. Stay out of my way. If you're not up to the job tell the Order and go back to your home. I don't need a body guard. I need to end this." He let out a hearty laugh.

"Silly little witch. You've got nerve. It's amusing."

"You've been warned." I said, still eating my apple as I continued walking.

"Yes and I am shaking in my boots." He stated, the words dripping with sarcasm.

"Good." With that I entered Slughorn's class and tried to pretend Derek wasn't there. When Slughorn caught sight of me he seemed to get extremely pale. Before the class filled up he walked over to me.

"Dear girl, what are you doing here? Surely you aren't safe." He looked directly at my scars and bruises.

   "Is anyone, Professor?"

"I can't argue with that. How are you? Since the... What happened?"

"I'm fine, Sir. Really. Thank you for your concern." He seemed to have a permanent expression of fear etched into his face. Then again, these days I can't say there were many who didn't.

"If you need anything you let me know." He dropped his voice very low now and looked around.

"I know you are fighting this war now. If I can ever brew a potion and be of any help at all let me know. Completely off the record of course."

"I appreciate it." With that Slughorn nodded and walked away. Everyone was so scared these days. Not many had the nerve to offer assistance, so I'll give him that. It would be a long year. And no more than a second after I thought that the mark on my arm developed a sharp pain only to prove my point further. I rushed from the class with Derek on my heels.

"Where are you going?!" He shouted. There was no time to explain. I sprinted from the castle as fast as I could and toward the gates. The second I was past them I apparated.

I was in Malfoy Manor staring into the cold eyes of the creature I hated more than anything on the world in no time. "You summoned me?"

"Yes," Tom hissed calmly. "And you arrived so promptly. I'm proud, really."

"What do you want? I have classes. I'm still trying to finish school." I knew I had angered him, but Tom held it in.

"Yes, I do actually value education. Believe hot or not. This will be quick. I have been informed there is a boy following you. Who is he? The truth." I sighed and looked directly at him.

"He is my brother. On my Mother's side. He is now use to you. He transferred to Hogwarts after he found out we were related. He wanted to meet me and get to know me. He had no idea of any of this and I would like to keep it that way." Tom stayed quiet for a while.

"Very well, but if I find out you're lying, Alexandra,

the consequences will be severe."

"Yeah yeah. I know. With the torture and the rape and all. I got it."

"You will speak to me with more respect our next meeting. You may go." Like I said, it would be a long year.
