Always Doesn't Mean Forever: Book 3(Severus Snape/student)

Chapter 16: They Will All Be Avenged

    Tomorrow. The battle would happen tomorrow. Deverose reported to Tom earlier today. He was pleased. Very pleased. So tomorrow I will help lead an attack on my home. I felt helpless. Tonight we would have a meeting to let the other members know. Severus will find out in just a few minutes. My hands continued to tremble as I put on some black earrings. I had been shaking since Deverose told Tom. Tomorrow so many people I know and care about will die. Children will die. I ran to the restroom and vomited up the contents of my stomach once again today. I walked over to the sink and splashed some water in my face, which ruined my make up. I leaned against the porcelain sink and stared into the mirror. I looked over the many scars I had received in the past few years. Scars from Bellatrix and Greyback and Amycus. Scars from Severus... Tomorrow this was all going to end.  We can't lose this war. I fixed my make up yet again and finished throwing together my outfit.

    Minutes later there was a light knock at the door. I opened it to see Deverose in an all black suit. He hair was styled and he had shaved his beard just enough for the scruffiness to be left. He looked me over and walked inside before pulling me into a deep kiss. "You look gorgeous, My Lady." I kissed him back and smiled lightly. 

   "You look pretty handsome yourself." I said as i ran my fingers over his scruff. 

   "I always dress to impress." He held me close and rested his chin on the top of my head. 

   "And who are you trying to impress." 

   "Mmm, well I have to keep my other girlfriends happy." He chuckled. 

   "Oh, I'm sure Bellatrix will be extremely pleased." 

   "Well, that joke was just in bad taste." Deverose laughed and pulled away. "Come on, we don't want to be late." 

   "You're right." We walked down stairs together, Deverose escorting me. When we walked in most everyone was there. Including Severus. He looked to us as soon as we walked in. Deverose and I were arm and arm. Severus' facial expression never changed, but I could feel the anger radiating from him. I can't do this. Deverose pulled my chair out for me and I took a seat. He sat next to me and then kissed me on the cheek. He did that just to bother Severus. I knew that much.  Tom walked in with Nagini trailing him. He took his seat and smiled at everyone.

   "I thank all of you for coming on such...short notice." He announced. "I have news. Tomorrow is the day we've all been waiting. Tomorrow, I will kill Harry Potter." Cheers erupted from around the room. Tom let them go for a moment before silencing them by holding up his hand. "Our second best weapon is finally ready. Deverose, you may begin." Deverose smiled and stood. He gave Tom a quick bow and then turned to the crowd. 

  "Ladies and gentleman, over the past five months I have been training Alexandra-" Someone in the crowd cut him off. 

  "And shagging her!" They called which made everyone erupt in laughter. Awesome. 

  "Not the point," Deverose smiled uncomfortably and continued "Her power has multiplied. Her attacks have gotten to the point where not even I can defend myself from them. She has protective skills for our masses as well as hand to hand combat training. She is going to be absolutely unstoppable. Alex, if you will please go stand in front of the fire place." Deverose took my hand while i stood and we walked over to the fire place. He stepped about ten feet back so everyone could see. "Now, Alex, just as we practiced." I nodded and closed my eyes for a moment. I took a deep breath and gave Deverose a small nod. "Brothers and sisters, My Lord, prepare to be amazed." Deverose drew his wand and pointed it to me. "Crutio!" The spell barreled toward me and hit me in the chest. My skin absorbed the spell an I felt nothing. There were audible gasps around the room. I saw Tom smile brightly. 

   "Amazing." he mumbled.

   "Very good. Now, dome." I nodded and closed my eyes. I pictured Severus. Bloody, beaten, and disarmed. I opened my eyes to see a blue dome covering everyone except Deverose. He shot spell after spell at the dome only for all of them to be absorbed. "Attack." 

   "Defendo!" I shot the spell directly at Deverose who then flew back and hit the wall with a loud thud. I heard a small snicker from somewhere in the crowd. I had a feeling I knew who that came from. Deverose picked himself up with a smile. 

   "Is there more?" Tom asked eagerly. 

   "Of course, My Lord, but we need a volunteer. A skilled fighter." Tom's eyes danced around the room. 

   "Greyback. Come forward." The giant of a man stepped forward.

   "Alex, take him down." Deverose ordered as he disarmed Greyback of his wand. I ran at Greyback who tried to grab me with his abnormally large hands. I ducked and hit him in the face with a strong right hook. His face turned red as laughs spread across the room. He ran at me this time. Right before he grabbed me I moved to the side and tripped him. He hit the ground with a hefty thud. Then i jumped on him and put him in a headlock and began chocking him. He pried at my arms around his neck, gasping for air until his body went limp and I laid his head on the ground. Tom began to clap and the room followed. "She's ready, My Lord." 

   "As I can see." He agreed, looking pleased. 

   "Are you pleased, My Lord?" Deverose asked. 

   "Almost. Alex, come here." Tom beckoned me. I walked over to him slowly and stood next to him. He motioned for me to bend down and whispered something in my ear. My stomach clenched. My heart dropped. It felt like the blood in my body turned freezing cold. I stood back up straight as a bored and tears filled my eyes. I drew my wand and gripped it tightly. With a deep breath I turned to Deverose. His smile dropped. He knew. Tears began to stream down my face and I could see them clouding his own eyes. He gave me a small nod and mouthed 'I love you'. 

   "I love you too. Avada Kedavra." I said as my voice shook. The spell winded quickly and hit him in the chest. Deverose fell to the floor. The light left his eyes. I watched him staring up at me. 

   "Good. Very good. Everyone go rest. We'll meet back here tomorrow." Everyone left the room, but I couldn't move. I just stood there. Watching his cold eyes watch me.  When everyone was gone I couldn't do it anymore. I ran outside and fell to the ground screaming at the top of my lungs. Tears streamed down my face one after another. I screamed and screamed until I couldn't anymore. When I could no longer scream, I just laid there. "I'm so sorry, Deverose. I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry." Tomorrow they will all be avenged. Every single one of them. I vow that.
