Angelique's P.O.V.

Scott is finally home after a while in the hospital. The Doctor has restricted him to bed rest but knowing my stubborn husband he ignored the doctor's orders and decided to do work from home. We've had clients come in and out the house all week and to say I'm pissed is an understatement. According to Scott if you're not dead then there's no reason to miss out on work.

My sister Kate has done well, her baby however is still in NICU. We're still waiting on some good news. That day after Nixy intruded I haven't seen her since, Scott probably took care of her. While Scott has been busy I've been out visiting my brother and Kate frequently. I've forgiven them.

Today I've decided to go out and have a drink with Ben's mom. She invited me, insisting that we catch up on some things. I walked into a small café and looked around for Ben's mom.

"Over here dear," she waved her hands at me. I smiled and walked over to her table. As soon as I sat down a waitress took my order and was gone.

"How has things been since I've been gone?" I asked looking at her.

"Things have changed quite a lot since you left, my father has gotten remarried to his best friend from the past," she explained and I smiled. I knew she was talking grandma McNally.

"She's a good old lady," I commented causing her to look at me confused.

" Do you know her by any chance?" She asked.

"Yes, she is my husband's grandmother," I replied.

"Oh I didn't realize," she smiled before sipping her drink.

"Yes, is she happy?" I asked wanting to know. I haven't heard from her in quite a while.

"Yes they're both doing pretty well. They're actually in the Bahamas right now. My dear have you talked to Ben at all?" She asked gaining my full attention. I missed him a lot.

"No I have not, he was clear in his letter that he needed to be alone, way from me," I said sadly looking down. The waitress delivered my drink then left again.

"Oh well he's back in town and I've invited him to have dinner with us tonight, I'd like you to come," she said.

"I can't," I declined.

"I insist," she said sternly. I sighed and decided to agree. Scott will have to stay home, not that he even noticed I was gone in the first place.

"May I bring my step son along?" I asked. I knew Mrs. Gilbert won't be there tonight so I'll have to order food for Scott and take Lucas with me.

"Yes dear I have yet to meet this little guy Ben talks so much about," she said excitedly. I smiled and we continued to talk about other things until we had to leave. I picked up Scott's food on the way home. I left a little note on the fridge then went to get dressed. Once I was done I dressed Lucas and then we were on our way to Ben's mom's house.
We arrived twenty minutes later and was now standing in front of their house.

"Here we go little buddy," I said lifting my hand and pushing the bell button. The door swung open a couple of seconds later revealing a happy old lady, Ben's mom.

"Come in dear. I'll take your coat and this bag. We've set a place for you and Lucas. Just go to the dinning room," she said pushing me. When I entered the room Ben was seated next to a small frightened girl around our age. He was looking at her while she was staring at me.

"Angie, welcome back!" Ben's dad exclaimed. His head snapped up and his eyes connected with mine. Surprise and hurt flashed through them making my heart ache while beating faster. I felt guilty for what I've failed to see in the past. I looked at the girl next to him and smiled at her. She looked extremely shy and I was happy that Ben had someone, if she is his girl, by his side.
