Second Detention

"You again, Miss Nostrade?" Professor McGonagall asked in disbelief.

The glassed girl stood in front of her. She was fidgeting, it would be better if Snape would oversee her detention but the Potion's master is currently away in Hogwarts.

"I've heard about your midnight stroll with the Weasley twins and I hoped it wouldn't happen again but- here you are." The professor said with disappointment in her eyes.

"I don't regret what I did, they insulted Harry." Loui said with a scowl.

Professor huffed and pursed her lips, "I know. But Miss Nostrade, next time please report them to your head of house and may I remind you to take off the Judging jinx at your closet, it's highly unusual for a first year to use a NEWT level jinx." The lioness ordered while looking at her with great disappointment but admiration as she mention the last words.

The Judging jinx is a very popular spell for the curse breakers especially in Egypt. It is a complicated jinx, that shows the person's greatest fear if the person who opens the lid or door have malice in it's mind.

"As for your detention." Professor said sitting straight from her seat. "You will be doing your homework at my office with Mr. Weasley. I hope this would be your first and last detention with me, Miss Nostrade."

Loui smiled and confidently replied, "Of course." But deep inside, she was pulling her hair out from it's scalp.

"Good. Go get your homework and return here immediately." Professor said emphasizing the last three words.

"Of course." Loui smiled, her usual forced smile and confidently walked out of the lioness' pit. Once she heard the click as she closed the door, her smiling lips fell to frown.

'And fate is being stubborn.'

With her books and parchments at her arms, she walked out of her room with Millicent and Pansy looking at her with disgust.

Her Slytherin cloak kept her from the cold air of the dungeons. She got out the tunnel, entering their cold common room.

"Where do you think you're going?" An older male Slytherin asked still in his uniform, probably just got from his rounds.

"I have detention with Professor McGonagall." She said, her grey eyes stared at the boy's dark blue's.

"I'll escort you."

"Why?"

"Because I don't know if you are speaking the truth." Loui inhaled a sharp breath and raised a brow.

"I don't care if you believe me or not. Do you think I'll venture the corridors at night... clutching these papers?" She asked grumpily before strutting out with her Slytherin cloak billowing behind her.

Loui passed the Baron who looked at her with his bloodshot sharp eyes, Peeves who looked sleepy after a whole day of pranking and Professor Quirell doing his night rounds and stumbled down narrowly stepping on one of the vanishing steps.

She knocked on the lionness' door before entering, her office was like the Gryffindor common room without the several comfy couches and background noise of the bickering, chatting students.

"Miss Nostrade, take a seat next to Mister Weasley and do your homework. Strictly no talking, chatting or any unnecessary noise." Professor McGonagall said looking at her as she spoke before returning her eyes to the scrolls of parchments in her table.

The auburn's grey eyes gazed at the two seats infront of the Professor's desk. On the left sat Fred, smiling and waving at her and beside him was an empty seat that is obviously for her.

She pretended not to see the ginger bloke and strutted to her seat. Loui arranged her parchment, quill, ink and references in the table. "Loui..."

She decided to ignore the whisper of Fred and wrote in her parchment 'The Uses of Follice Fireum Leaves', the title for their Potions' homework.

"Psst. Loui..." The girl tried her hardest not to snap her head and growl at Fred. She continued to write the first paragraph... second... third.. fourth, fif-

"Louisiana.." Her quill fell on the parchment, she almost snapped her head but instead, her fingers found their way inside Loui's skirt pocket and wrapped around her oak-wood made wand.

She waved her wand inside the pocket and did a non-verbal spell that caused his chair to rock and fall on the ground with him sitting on it.

"Mr. Weasley!" Professor McGonagall yelled with her eyes glaring at the poor lad.

"I didn't do anything professor!" Fred said innocently with his hands up.

"Go back to your seat."

Fred did what he is told and instead of glaring at the auburn, he smiled at her. This made her reach her limits... She gave him a glare.

Fred smiled more but he faced his table, got his almost broken quill, inked and wrote something in the small piece of parchment before crumpling it. His eyes turned to her again and threw the parchment at her face.

She nearly caught it, Loui opened the parchment: 'Thanks' scrawly written in the middle.

This made her raise a brow at him. She stared at him before hastily writing in the same parchment: 'For?' Before throwing the paper, she looked at the Professor's table in case the lioness was looking at her direction.

Fred caught it with ease and opened hurriedly, he read the parchment momentarily and flashed a boyish smile at her before writing down.

He threw it back at her, and she opened it again: 'For kneeing me', this made her huff in disbelief and rolled her eyes. She really can't understand the Weasleys, except for the youngest ginger boy.

'You're weird' She threw the paper back again.

Fred wrote again and passed to Loui, 'Weird is what boring people call fun people' Her eyes gazed up from the paper to Fred who was smiling at her while twirling his quill between his fingers.
