I stood at the mirror and smiled. I twirled in the dress I had gotten for Sarah's wedding. The purple rhinestones sparkled on the cream colored dress. Medda had helped me pin up my hair and pick out pretty purple shoes in her wardrobe. I was now admiring the dress in my dressing room.
"My, Reagan, you beautiful soul!" Medda said, going into the dressing room. She smiled at me and brought her eyes to mine.
"You look quite beautiful," she said.
"Thank you," I said, blushing at her compliment.
I then heard footsteps nearing towards the room. And soon, through the mirror, I saw Davey appear in the doorway. He had a black suit on, with a black tie. His chocolate curly hair was still in its beautiful natural state but styled so it was controllable. Striking green eyes sparkled from his face as a smile appeared on his face. I watched him walk to me and come behind me, placing his hands on my hips.
"You look beautiful," he whispered. I smiled at his sincereness, and then turned over my left shoulder to look at his face.
"Thanks Davey, you'se look pretty strapping yourself."
He looked down at me and then gave a me a kiss. I brought my right hand to his cheek as I gave him a kiss in return.
When we let go, he smiled and held my hand as we left the theater on our way to Sarah's wedding.

I sat down at the front, next to Davey. A plate of food was in front of me, along with a glass of some fancy drink. My hands started to shake as I picked up the glass and brought it to my lips. I took a tiny sip before placing the glad down gently, and releasing a sigh of relief.
Davey then put his drink down and smiled at me.
"Whats wrong, Reagan?" He asked me.
"Davey, I'se so nervous. I've never done this sorta thing before," I confessed.
"Reagan, I wouldn't worry. You look beautiful, and have a magnificent smile. You'll be fine, I promise," he said. His hand had slipped into mine under the table and squeezed it tightly.
"But what if you're parents think I'se a slob after tonite, then we can't be together and I ain't no what-"
"Reagan," he said. I stopped my rambling and was caught in his stare. "Stop, it's ok. All is fine."
I gave him a small smile before returning to my plate of food. I was about to pick up my fork when I heard a glass getting tapped by a spoon. The room of lace and extravagance came to a silence as Davey's father stood up for a speech.
"Sarah, Charles, you both have become so beyond brilliant in the lives by the Jacobs. We wish you nothing but the best and hope for your marriage to be everlasting." A wave of clapping followed as everyone toasted to the two of them. I drank slowly and put my glass down and yet again, let a sigh of relief out.
Soon someone tapped me on the shoulder, and Sarah and her fiancé, Charles, were standing behind me.
"Reagan! I'm thrilled you could come!" She said with a touch of evil lurking in her smile. I went up to hug her and she brought me in for a small one. Then her fiancé shook my hand.
"My love, this Reagan, Davey's dirty old girlfriend," she said.
"Dirty, why do you say that my love?" He asked. He then smiled as he came to kiss my hand.
"Because she is a Newsie, yes a girl Newsie." She whispered. He then, let go of my hand and looked me up and down. He soon muttered something I could not here and they left without another word.

Another few hours flew by and the night became long. I had danced with Davey, and was impressed about how well he remembered everything I taught him. We had just come off of the dancing floor, with him offering his elbow and me accepting, when a lady ran into me.
"Excuse me my dear, but are you with one of the Jacobs brothers?"
"Yes, ma'am."
"Do you think someone who is a Newsie should be around the blessed family? I do not mean to insult you, but you should not be here, my dear. Why don't you go back to selling newspapers outside, eh? This is probably the first meal you have eaten in a week, so I'll give u a little extra out of sympathy."
I kept my composure before letting out a sigh. As I started to open my mouth, Davey jumped in.
"Excuse me ma'am, but I do not believe it is any of your business who attends this wedding. As the eldest Jacobs child, I believe that it is perfectly fine that a girl who should be treated with kindness and respect should be able to attend a nice gala such as this. And if I may add, insulting another guest at such an occasion like this is quite improper and shows a sign of jealousy and lack of respect, now does it? So in all respect, ma'am, I believe you stop whatever rumor is going around about my date and stay focused on the real occasion of my sister's wedding, thank you." And without another word, Davey had swooped me out into the alleyway of the reception and away form the big crowd.
"Davey, you ain't had to a do that for me," I said.
"Of course I did, you my goil, aren't ya? I would do anything for you. Now did that hurt your feelings?" He asked, cupping my face with one hand.
"No not at all, thank ya Davey," I whispered. He then took his lips and gently placed them on mine. Our lips moved in sync as his other hand trailed to my waist. My hands got tangled in his hair as we continued to kiss. I felt his warmth against my skin and his touch bringing chills down up my spine.
Then something happened- something I thought that Davey Jacobs woudld never do.
He brought his lips to my neck and started to kiss roughly. A small squeak left my mouth as I was taken by surprise from his action. He soon brought his lips back to my jawline and kissed his way back to my lips where w proceeded our kissing.
I then realeased from the kiss- David kept his distance from me small as we placed our foreheads together.
"Well well, Mr. Jacobs. I'm quite surprised at your charm and skill," I smirked.
He smirked. "Wanna ditch this wedding and head back to the lodging house? I'm getting real bored of this place," he whispered.
"I thought you would never ask," I responded.
We exhancged smiles before heading out into the the darkness of New York.
