the perfect square

they say that a perfect number

is a positive integer

equal to the sum of all positive divisors

does it mean then

as you and i came together

everything adds up

however which way you look at it

perfection is more than enough?

as variables we may be

numbers in disguise

x and y, it seems,

may never mix up

one thing, still, will make us real

balancing the negatives and positives

all in one line

if we are x and y

where x becomes you

and i become y

no matter what equation

or complicated expression

only one true formula

will form our perfect square

as your x and my i

is raised to the power of two

our love is magnified

our love is real, forever true
