I wake up with a pillow hitting me in the face. I open my eyes and see Dean leaning over me.
"That's what you get for hitting me yesterday." he says.
"Ugh what time is it?" I moan sleepily.
"Soon 10.30." Sam says as he walks through the door, holding 3 mugs on a tray.
"Made you guys coffee." he hands us a mug each.
"How the hell do you know where I keep all of my shit at home?" I ask warily.
"I just look around till I find it." Sam chuckles.
"We're leaving at 11.00 to check out the river," Dean tells us, "you got half an hour to get ready, Cia." Dean walks out of the room, with Sam following shortly. I put on a white shirt with some hiking shorts and I pack a bag with anything we might need. I pack an EMF meter, a first aid kit, some water bottles, rope and a few other things. I put everything in my duffel bag and I head downstairs for a little breakfast. Sam and Dean are reading through some hunting books as I get out some Frosties cereal. I eat as much as I can before it's time to go.
"I'm guessing you have a car?" I ask the boys.
"Yup." Dean says.
"Good because I don't" We head out to the car, a very impressive and nice looking black Chevy Impala. Dean gets in the drivers seat, Sam in the front passenger, and I sit in the back. Dean drives us up to the beginning of that trail in the woods that will lead us to the river.
"So, Sawyer Walter went missing around 10.50 PM two nights ago." Sam informs us of the story of Sawyer's disappearance, "His mother says that he was meeting some friends by the river but the friends say that when they arrived Sawyer wasn't there."
"Well, I guess we'll just have to find out ourselves what really happened." Dean says as we pull up by the trail. We exit the car and head up the trail. We're silent for most of the trek.
"So.... You got a boyfriend?" he asks me. I pause and give him an "umm what?" look, obviously taken by surprise by the sudden change of subject.
"Don't got one, never had one." I say curtly.
"That's strange, you're very pretty." he says.
"Well, at school I'm considered the strange Scandinavian girl that reads about exorcism and has a knife collection." I shrug.
"I heard you have a sister. Where is she now?" Sam asks.
"Dead." I respond hastily.
"Oh.. I'm very sorry, I didn't mean to - " Sam starts.
"Its fine." I cut him off and I start walking at a faster pace. We soon reach the river. I am very moody today for some reason.
"Alright, lets split up and search different areas of the river." Dean points for me to go further downstream and for Sam to head upstream. I look around and see if I can find Sawyer's body in the water but I see no sign of anything floating in the water, or lying sunken on the riverbed. The water is very clear and at a nice temperature. I dip my feet into the water and wade to the other side of the river so that I can have a look around over there. After finding nothing and looking a bit further downstream I head back to our meeting point. I see Dean still searching and I can just see the outline of Sam searching a bit farther up. I sit at the riverbank with my feet in the water.
"Find anything?" Dean asks me.
"Nope nothing. I crossed to the other side as well. Still nothing." I tell him.
Dean is about to open his mouth and respond when we hear a call from Sam's direction,
"HEY OVER HERE!" Sam yells and beckons for us to come over. Dean and I run over as fast as we can. I run past Dean, who gives me a surprised look, obviously thinking that he would be faster than me. I smirk at him as I beat him to Sam.
'We got one fast bitch with us." Dean says panting, his hands on his knees.
"Second place for 100m run." I continue grinning at him.
"What have you found?" I turn my attention to Sam, still smiling a bit
"Right there." He points to a dark figure in the water. I go grab my ropes from my duffel bag and we all help to haul the body out of water. Dean pulls out a photo of Sawyer Walters and compares it to the body.
"That's him alright." he says.
"There seems to be some bruising on his neck. As if he was pulled into the water and drowned." I point out.
"And on his wrists too. Someone definitely pulled him into the water." Sam adds to my point. We hear distant voices in the background.
"That's the police, we gotta go." Dean gets up and pushes the body back into the river to make sure that there is no evidence that we have touched the crime scene and then motions for us to follow him. We jog back along the trail to the car.
"It was raining two days ago. And it was before Sawyer went out. That means whoever drowned him would have left tracks on the muddy riverbank. " Sam says as we get in the car.
"But there were no tracks." I say
"Exactly." Sam says back, "That means whoever, or in our case whatever did this is definitely not human.
