"Bobby, where the heck are you?" You groaned into your phone. You'd called him over a dozen times and his phone was still off. That worried you, was he OK? If he wasn't then you'd be screwed completely.
"This is the last time I'm going to call you. If you get this, then I guess, ignore it or whatever." You lost hope. You put the payphone down in defeat, you really felt as if you weren't going to get out of this one.
There was nowhere left to run and it scared you.
You pulled your hood over your head as you trudged over to the bus and hopped in. You were the last on and it started rolling as soon as you sat down.
"This is it." You smiled at the window. Your heart fluttered in excitement as it also felt weighed down from fear. You were leaving. You were no longer going to identify as FN/LN. You could be whoever you chose to be. You let the smile consume your face before you shut your eyes, the day's activities thoroughly exhausting you.
Sleep came with disturbed dreams and you jerked awake as the seat beside you was taken.
"Uh sorry." The guy who sat down apologized and you shrugged in response. Why had the person moved? Your heart sped up as you groped as smoothly as possible in your pocket for your knife. "Don't even try it. I could kill you before you even have it out of your pocket." The guy said as his eyes turned completely black.
The bus pulled into a station and he prodded you out of the bus and station. As soon as you rounded a corner where there were no people, you felt a huge pain in the back of your head and all went black.
..................................
"You thought you could run away?" The demon laughed as you opened your eyes. You were in a dark room tied to a chair. Instinctually you tried to pull your hands apart, but you couldn't.
"Don't bother sweetheart, you're here to stay." He grinned. "Where is it?" He asked and you shook your head. "So be it." He grinned as he grabbed your shirt and ripped it open. "I'm strong. There's no need for me to beat it out of you when all I need to do is burn your anti-possesion tattoo off and be inside you." He grinned as he turned around and grabbed a blowtorch. Your blood ran cold as he switched it on and walked towards to you. The torch touched your collarbone and you screamed in pain as your flesh burned. Before he was done you felt yourself black out.
......................
"Hey. You're OK." Am unfamiliar voice said to you as your eyes opened. Your heart felt like it was constantly in overdrive and you looked at the guy who was speaking to you. He had long brown hair and looked quite large.
You were still in the room. You shuddered involuntarily. "Where is it?" You asked, referring to the demon. You couldn't remember a thing and were worried that you'd told him the location of the bones. The bones of another demon. You'd taken them off of Bobby's hands and knew that they were your only bargaining chip. If you lost the bones then the game was over and you hated that thought. You'd never been one to just let things go easily and losing was never fun for you.
"Dead." The guy said as he wiped a knife against his pants. He walked over to you and cursed when he saw the burn on your collarbone. The burn ached like hell as soon as you thought about it again and you hissed as cold air touched it. The shock was beginning to wear off and all you could feel was that spot of your body.
"Are you a hunter?" He asked as he cut the ropes around your wrists and feet. You flexed and then winced when you were hit with pain from the burn again. You'd accidentally stretched your skin and you felt wetness flow down from your collarbone.
"No." You replied honestly. You were just a guard who had no clue of whether you'd actually succeeded in guarding your ward. The bones were important. If they were found and used, a horrible demon would be resurrected and he in turn would resurrect a monster that hadn't been seen on Earth for thousands of years. Bobby had drilled that into your head before he gave you the bones. He didn't want to tell you more than that, so you had no idea about what the monster was. You'd been researching t every chance you got, of course, but you hadn't actually succeeded in finding much out yet.
"I'm Sam." He introduced himself to you as he helped you up. As soon as he looked at you, you realized that this was your chance to take a new name up. In that moment you I knew what you'd choose.
"Missy Hunter" You smiled feebly at him. Artemis was your favorite Greek god and she was the Goddess of the hunt, so Missy hunter would be your little secret to yourself. You felt happy with the name, you could feel the pages of a blank book being opened.
"Hospital?" He asked, pulling you out of your thoughts.
"No!"You nearly shouted in response. You didn't need the demons to find you there and you needed to go look for the bones.
"You need to get that checked." He motioned towards your burn and you grimaced.
"I'll manage." You said through gritted teeth, the pain was immense. You knew that there was no way in hell you'd "manage", but you'd never been one to beg for help either. It was mostly a downfall for you because you knew that you'd probably end up dying over being to shy to ask for help. Feeling like a bother was a constant for you.
"OK, well, I have a friend who can help, but, you'll need to come with me." He offered.
"I need to go somewhere." You replied. It was the truth and convenient for leaving Sam and doing your thing alone.
"Where?" He asked.
"I need to check on something." You didn't want to be too specific with him. He was a stranger, after all. Hunters were sort of a family. They had an awesome thing going that made hunters who met instant friends. But, like all humans, not all hunters were exactly trustworthy, some were paid mercenaries. You knew of some who killed or caught monsters for rich humans on the fringe of the Supernatural to keep as pets or displays. It was disgusting, but, money was a universal corruptor, whether you knew about monsters or not. Plus, you weren't technically a hunter, so you had no clue how carefully to tread.
"Can we help?" He asked.
"Uh no it's good.I can take care of it." You shrugged and then winced. "Oh gosh!" You gritted your teeth. The burn wasn't cooling down, if anything you felt as if it was increasing exponentially in pain.
"I'm taking you back with me." Sam decided and headed off on the direction of wherever he planned on taking you.
Sighing and gritting your teeth, you followed him.
.............................
"Here we are." Sam said as you pulled into the driveway of a very dilapidated house. It looked very likely to be the town's haunted house.
"Charming." You frowned as you studied the house and then stepped out of the car and walked with Sam towards the door.
"Sammy!" A guy with short hair and green eyes grinned through a mouthful of food at him as you both stepped inside and Sam smiled."What took you so long?" He asked and then he noticed you. "Oh, Sammy." His voice changed and he smirked at Sam. You instantly felt yourself get red. This guy thought that Sam was getting some. You almost muttered "I wish" out loud, but stopped yourself from embarrassing yourself further.
"What happened to you?" An older black woman asked in shock as she walked out of the kitchen into the dining room. You instantly liked her. She had that motherly feel about her and she had a wooden spoon in hand, explaining the glorious smells coming from the kitchen. She had the motherly vibes down to a T and you instantly felt less stressed.
"Demon got her." Sam explained for you as he grabbed a chair for you and you sat.
"And burnt you?" She asked you and you shrugged your other shoulder. You realized it probably looked amusing.
"What did he burn off?" The other guy asked, his green eyes piercing into yours.
"Tattoo." You didn't say too much because you weren't sure about the protocol for that sort of thing. Was there a secret code? A secret handshake maybe? Who knew what weird stuff hunters were into.
"Anti-possession?" Sam asked and you nodded.
"How did you find me?" You asked as the woman bustled around gathering various ingredients.
You laughed when she smacked the other guy on the head with her wooden spoon and ordered him to help. He looked so heartbroken at the prospect of leaving his food behind. That almost made you laugh again, but you understood his sentiment because that food smelled amazing.
"Dumb luck. I was driving through that area." He shrugged and you eyed him suspiciously. Does that ever just happen? You knew good luck never happened to you, so that set you on edge.
"Yeah, that really does sound like dumb luck." You said sarcastically. They shouldn't of been able to find you there in that dark room by chance.
The other guy also studied you and quickly looked away when he noticed you noticing him noticing you ( English😏).
"Did he posses you?" The guy asked and Sam shot him a look.
"Dean!" Ah, so that was his name.
"I don't know. I was too busy being unconscious." You rolled your eyes. On the other hand, being unconscious was a lot better than being, say, dead, so you weren't too upset about that.
"As far as excuses go, a girl fainting because of being burnt isn't so bad." Dean gave you the thumbs up of approval.
"I dabble." You joked as the woman came back.
"Good." She said. "Because you're going to want and probably be unconscious for this." She smiled at you.
"How?" You asked and she gave you an apologetic look before touching the burn with her poultice. You hissed in pain and found yourself actually going umconcious because of the pain, your eyes seeing dark spots before your whole vision disappeared along with your hearing..
.....................................
You woke up and sat up to find Dean sitting on your bed staring at you. If you hadn't of stopped you'd of bumped heads with him.
"You're such a girl." He shook his head at you before getting up and throwing a shirt at you.
"Thanks." You grumbled as you shoved it on. He was out of hearing range.
As you crept downstairs quietly, you heard a muffled conversation downstairs.
"She doesn't know." Sam said in a low voice. You could hear the stress in it.
"She doesn't trust us and I sure as hell dont blame her, she's smart." Dean replied with a hint of amusement.
"Well dont go telling her anything before she heals fully." The woman replied and you felt your heart beat loudly in your ears. You stepped down another stair and pressed your body against the wall to hear more, but the conversation was either over or had moved elsewhere. Sighing, you slowly retreated the stairs before making another descent, this one louder and more obvious.
"Morning sweetie." The woman smiled at you kindly as you reached the kitchen. She had made pancakes and eggs and bacon as well. Dean grinned as he stuffed a slice of bacon in his mouth and chewed and Sam shot Dean an exasperated look as he poured himself orange juice.
"Hey." You smiled tentatively. "Thanks for fixing me up." You referred to your bandaged wound that didn't feel sore anymore.
"Oh it's nothing, just a little healing spell that's all." She waved away your thanks and you sat down curiously.
How the hell had an escape plan ended with you sitting at a table with two hunters and a witch?
