Days went by spent in the cold dirty room. You were starting to become sick of eating chopped up hot-dogs in ketchup covered dog food. The taste was sickening, so now you were beginning to loose weight. Living on mostly water and pain.
Papyrus still hasn't believed Sans about his human capture. Shouting was always heard from outside the room. You always wondered why he wanted to stay with such horrible people. Even if they were family, they never got along. And, as far as you could tell, Sans and Papyrus both were old enough to live on their own.
"I don't get why I should even fucking try!" Sans stormed in and threw himself on the bed. They had both been in another argument over you.
"It's just so pointless... Everything! Papyrus doesn't care about me, the other monsters wouldn't hesitate to kill me... Why am I even here?" He continued. His depression and anxiety was clear for anyone to see. Though, you hated it when he talked like that.
"Don't say that, please," you begged. Tears come too easily for you.
"Why the fuck not!?" Sans glared at you, making you flinch.
"I... I think everyone is here for a reason..." Saying this made you think of Bennett. Alive or dead, you still didn't know. If he wasn't there, you probably wouldn't survive.
"Yeah? What's my reason then, huh? To fulfill the pleasure on beating someone? I'm the person everyone lets their anger out on." Red started to dimly glow from his eye sockets.
"I've never hurt you... And if you weren't here then... who would've caught me?" You hesitated on saying it but you hate to see others in pain. No matter how horrible they were.
"Yeah, but you're only a human. Plus, you're one verses a whole race." He rejected your consideration.
You have to defend yourself, "Yeah, but can't I represent my race? The human race?"
Sans just scoffed at you and turned away on his bed. You sighed and rested against the wall. If he wasn't going to accept your help then it was his loss. In your heart you couldn't help but care about him. When you were a little kid it wasn't hard to find beauty in everything. Old habits die hard.
Like usual, Sans had fallen asleep. The more upset he was, the more tired he seemed to become. A symptom of depression. You've been sleeping a lot too. Here there isn't much to do. No one to talk to (except when Sans comes in before he sleeps), there is nowhere to go and no entertainment.
You looked up and tried not to cry, but quickly failed. This wasn't one of the quiet cries either. You needed to be heard. Your hands started to shake and your heart ached. Sometimes it felt like it was better for Bennett. He doesn't have to suffer any of this. Not the pain of watching someone you know die, then being tortured. You still wanted to believe this was just a nightmare.
"Shut up!" San's voice was muffled in the blankets. You couldn't stop. "I said shut up! What're you even doing-" He stopped when he saw you cuddled up crying.
Monsters around here never cry. At least not in public. When he saw you, he saw himself. Confused, hurt, lost. He wasn't sure what to do. It upset him, but also made him feel sorry. But he can't accept these feelings. It isn't normal. He growled and buried his face in his bed.
"Sans! Get your lazy ass out of this room now and go to work!" Papyrus slammed the door open and crossed his arms, glaring at Sans. You screamed and stared up at the tall skeleton. He almost screamed in response to you as he jumped back.
"What is this!?" He questioned his brother.
"It's the goddamn human! Do you believe me now?" Sans growled at Papyrus.
"So this is what a human is?... Hmm... Strange creature." Papyrus ignored the other skeleton's mumbles and complaints.
The tall skeleton reached down and sharply tugged on the collar Sans had put on you to prevent escape. It was bound together with magic, making your escape attempts unsuccessful. You chocked at first from the sudden force. Papyrus just stared at you, looking you up and down, holding you next to his face.
You looked away, unable to look him in the eyes. "Please... Put me down..." Your voice was barely audible.
Papyrus snickered. "Put you down? But human, we have to take you to Undyne." He suddenly smirked, making you shiver. "Or... We will keep you here for a while. After all, I am second in head of the royal guard." He chuckled.
"Why would you do that?" Sans asked surprised. It didn't seem like his brother to not kill a human right away.
"Just think of all the fun we can have Sans. All the... Research."
"Since when did you become interested in science bro- Boss."
"Shut up Sans! I was going to consider letting you have a day off or some shit, but I can easily change my mind." Papyrus became angered by his brother and tried to manipulate him.
"S-sorry Boss..." Sans became quiet and looked down. The whole time you were shaking in fear over what Papyrus's plans for you may be.
You got thrown to Sans feet and began to catch the breath taken from you. "For now, you will take good care of this human. We cant bring it in looking like the shit it is. Undyne must see my good work." With that, he left, expecting Sans to obey without talking back.
You glanced over at Sans. He sighed and walked over to you. Then he grabbed the leash from your collar and pulled you out of the room. You've never been outside of his room, so the house was a whole new sight for you. Outside it smelled strongly of smoke and alcohol. The living room was tidied up and neat, along with the kitchen. Probably only clean because of Papyrus.
Sans pushed you into the kitchen. "Okay, pet. First things first. Make me something to eat. It better be good too." He left and sat on the couch in their living room.
Great. Now, not only are you being forced to stay, but now you were being used as a slave. At least now you have something to do, and maybe something good to eat. The fridge was about empty. A few eggs, milk, cheese. About only the basics. The pantry was worse. One of them was filled with only rat poison. Do they eat that stuff!? The rest had chips and pasta stuff.
Eggs. The only thing to make right now is eggs. You searched around and found a bowl and a pan. You cracked three eggs into the bowl, following with milk and cheese. After they were done cooking, you set them out on a plate, grabbed a fork and carried them to Sans.
This time he was awake watching TV. "Wow, kid. You-"
"It's (Y/N)." You cut him off annoyed.
"Like I said earlier. No one cares. And, as I was going to say, you actually found something to make. How'd you do that?" He sounded like he was expecting you to react that way.
"Well, it would be better if you maybe bought some new stuff. I know how to cook a lot of things, like cookies or shepherds pie. You know why? Cause I'm not a kid." For some reason, you weren't sure why, but it felt right to finally get after him. Then, you remembered how upset he could get and decided not to be anymore mad at him.
"Really? Wow I guess it really has been a while since I've seen a human," He laughed at himself. "Guess that's good news."
"What do you mean?" Sans ignored you and started to eat the eggs. "C-can I make some for me too?"
"I don't care. But soon you're doing the shopping."
Gladly, you made yourself some nice food. When you get home things will never be the same. If you get home.
