"So when can we go home?" You asked Toriel a second time.
Everyone has been living with her for almost 6 months now. You're pretty sure anyway. Toriel was kinda hard to get along with at first. Her attitude towards things would change from time to time. In the mornings, sometimes she would forget about things and just seem absent. But... How would you act in her situation?
Living in such a small area, where there was no fresh air... It's not very pleasant. You and everyone need to leave. You know what it's like outside. There are a lot more monsters. No one knows yet if any of them can change, but it's worth a try right? Maybe there are certain things that change them too.
You and Bennett argued with your new friend, while she kept trying to change the subject by telling you interesting and slightly disturbing facts about snails. Now you know not to eat snails; they could have certain parasites on them that can kill predators... Bennett was quiet most of the time. You know he wants to stay. He has never been outside, so he seems nervous.
"Stay up here please... I have something to do." The goat woman got up and left the room. Flowey, Bennett and you exchanged glances before you picked up your friend's pot and followed her.
It felt a little strange not being attacked in the hallway. You could feel the goosebumps on your arm as you searched for Toriel. She was stopped a little ways ahead. Seeing it now, you realized the hallway is a lot longer than you thought. You cautiously came near Toriel, afraid she might have a mental moment and attack due to stress.
"You wish to know how to leave the ruins, do you not? Well ahead of us lies the exit. I'm going to destroy it. Now go back upstairs." The goat woman didn't turn to even glance at you. Instead she kept heading forward.
You were shocked to say the least. If she destroyed it then no one would ever be able to leave. This is no place to live. Bennett looked at you anxiously then jogged to catch up to Toriel.
"Wait! Why would you do that! Don't you ever want to leave?" Bennett argued.
She stopped again. "If you leave they, Asgore, will kill you. You naive children can't you see? I'm doing this to keep you safe. I'm not sure if you'll even make it to that horrible creature..." Then she walked away again.
"This is your last warning."
The hallway came to an end. A giant door divided this room from the next. Fresh air and space seemed so close, but it was blocked by the heartbroken monster. Toriel glared down at you all, disappointed in your actions. Tears streamed down her face and the glow of her magic started to light up the room.
"That's it! Fight me or leave! I just wanted to keep you safe..." Her voice broke.
"No, I don't want to fight!" You shout at her. She doesn't reply.
Fire surrounded all three of you as you tried your best to dodge it. One grazed your thigh but other than that everyone was okay. It hurt like hell though. You stood your ground despite this, holding Flowey protectively.
"Please Mom! We just want to be free... I wanna go home," Bennett begged.
Toriel hesitated, but then attacked again. The motion seemed sloppy. Fire flew across the room in an unorganized manner. Only Flowey wasn't hurt. He hid in the purse you held close.
"I don't want to fight..." You begged for her mercy.
She hid her face as she reached an arm out. Her magic seemed to be aimed straight towards everyone, but avoided you itself. It flew by and disappeared into the air. When it stopped you ran forward and hugged her. If she didn't go with you, and you had a feeling she wouldn't, she would be all alone. Who knows if she'll be okay on her own again.
