Hiiro knocked on Levi's door. "Rivaille?"
Levi opened the door with a glare. "
"How many times have I told you to call me Captain Levi?"
Hiiro just rolled his eyes. "Are you ready to go?" He pulled at the sleeves of a slim-fitting, tailored tux in discomfort. "This is absolutely necessary, right?"
"I know you'd rather play with a welding saw than go to a social event, but yes, you're required to be there. Now stop messing with your cuff links." He went over and adjusted Hiiro's jacket, stepping back. "There. You're decent enough." He straightened his own tux before leaving his quarters and shutting the door behind him. Then the two headed to the mess hall.
Upon arriving, Hiiro noticed a few cadets dancing. He shook his head, groaning. "Is dancing required, too? Please say no..."
Levi glared at him and shook his head. "You're useless. Follow me." He stopped at the beverage table and picked up and unopened bottle. "Let the kids dance. The adults can just drink the night away."
Hiiro merely raised his eyebrows. "If you insist..."
Yuki, who was just sitting and observing the party instead of forcing social interaction, discreetly kept an eye out for the pair of Captains as they made their way over to a table in the back of the mess hall.
Meanwhile, Levi cracked open the bottle, taking the first drink before passing it off to Hiiro, who similarly took a drink before passing it back. Levi raised his eyebrows.
"What?" Hiiro said defensively, exhaling. "I had to get used to alcohol for medical purposes."
"Is that so? Then this should be interesting," Levi commented dryly.
"How so?"
"I'll make a bet with you, Captain Takada."
"And just what might this bet of yours entail, Captain Levi?"
"Last one sober wins."
Hiiro shrugged, his eyes serious though a slight smile played on his face. "Fine, you're on."
An hour later, nearly all of the cadets have left, too afraid of curfew to risk staying longer, but Yuki remained, watching as another bottle joined the first...and then another...
Any consideration for the bet was quickly thrown aside. It wouldn't have mattered much, anyway.
Both Hiiro and Levi were absolutely, undeniably drunk.
"Damn, it's hot in here..." Levi muttered, undoing his bow tie and dropping it on the floor.
Yuki watched from a distance, raising her eyebrows but not strong enough to look away (and who in their right mind would).
Hiiro smirked, a rare holiday from the normal frown he kept parked on his face. "Let me help you with that, Rivaille..." He reached over and slipped off Levi's jacket, reaching for the buttons of his dress shirt, but Levi slapped his hand away.
"I can do the buttons myself!" he insisted, and Hiiro pouted slightly before leaning back.
"Fine~"
Levi struggled to unfasten the first button before sighing and leaning back.
"Thank goodness for alcohol..." Hiiro murmured.
"Why's that?" Levi asked, looking over in curiosity.
"'Cause my arm finally stopped hurting...it bothers me all the damn time..."
Levi poked Hiiro in the arm. "This one?"
