C h a p t e r ➸ 15

Please note that in the manga instead of being called The Reaper he's referred as God of Death and I like that better so I'm going to go with that.

"God of Death," Kaji mumbled under her breath. She knew that she had herd that name somewhere before. She just couldn't think of it.

Kaji swears that her nightmares have been getting worse, and so she hasn't been getting to much sleep. She's had nightmares before but this, was just insane. Almost every single night she was haunted by her dreams. Trying to drag her back into her own pit of hell. Kaji wished she could just go some nights without even sleeping. She's done that before, but the next day wasn't the best.

Now that this, God of Death has appeared, Kaji really just felt like she was in a whirl. Unsure of how to approach this situation and how to go through with a plan that won't get anyone killed.

Maybe that was it. Kaji was raised to protect only one person and herself. Even though, that one person could protect himself perfectly fine so, Kaji only really knows how to protect herself. No wonder she couldn't think up something at all. She had no idea how she could protect the whole class-E.

Even so, Kaji didn't have to do all the thinking. Not matter how much she wanted to do everything, she couldn't. If they were going to save Bitch-sensei back one person couldn't do everything alone.

Kaji did have to admit that she had grown very fond of these outfits that had been given to the class. Even though Kaji couldn't even feel it, she knew how strong it actually was. That and she really liked just wearing it. And this plan that the students of class-E had come up with, Kaji had an uneasy feeling about it. It was pretty solid but, they had no idea what this God of Death was capable of.

Hell, with the trick he pulled he probably had some sort of plan.

Kaji found herself counting her fingers as she followed behind the others. She was put in the A group was it? She just knew that she would have to face up against the God of Death. Which she wasn't really looking forward. Just, how exactly would she approach him? She was thinking that her best bet would be to attack him while he's far from the others. Fighting with others always lead to some sort of consensus.

"Kaji-chan," Karma's voice cut into her thoughts, "chill." Kaji took a deep breath, hoping that it would help some. She really did need to calm down. Or else's things wouldn't turn out the way she had planned. Or hoped.

Kaji could feel the atmosphere grow cold. Cold with a terrible feeling mixed in. It felt like an instant. With everyone practically dropping like flies. And all Kaji could do was stand there. She couldn't force her legs to move, and she knew why. He was obviously not out to kill them, yet, but the best plan that Kaji had come up with was, this. Wait till she's the last one standing.

This God of Death was very skilled. Easily taking down all of these trained assassin. Even Nagisa, which surprised Kaji in all honesty.

Now only she stood, with her muscles final loosing up. He looked like a mass of dark energy, without even any sort of flesh. Just, black.

"Ah!" He said, "I was hoping that you would be here." Kaji didn't say a word, she didn't need to. She knew that her icy eyes already told everything. In a quick monition, Kaji drew her sword and dashed towards the God of Death. She raised up her leg, swinging around for a strike to his head but was stopped so easily.

"You are fast." He sounded more interested in her movements than the actual fight. Makes sense, he probably thinks that she can't do anything against him. She quickly swung her sword around, only to slice through the air as he ducked to avoid her attack. Still holding her ankle, he swung her around, trying to get her off balance.

Kaji saw a chance and went for it. She raised her blade to strike but was met with a sharp pain in her stomach. Even with this supped up clothing it still hurt like hell. Kaji fell back down to the cold floor, clutching her stomach. As she gazed up, she could of sworn that her surroundings changed for a brief moment, mimicking one of her nightmares.

"A powerful German mafia," his words rang through Kaji so clearly. "One with a very deadly assassin. One that would kill anyone if she was ordered to." Kaji felt her blood run cold. She coughed up bits of blood as she took another blow to her stomach.

"The mafia was strong because of this assassin, and feared throughout many lands. When it fell, many wondered what happened to the young assassin." Kaji's body moved quickly, however, her strike was weak, so easily stopped. Kaji's body was lifted ever so slightly off the ground from her wrist. Kaji's whole body was just, limp, she couldn't move no matter what she did.

"And here I've found this feared assassin in such a poor state." Kaji was raised where her cold icy eyes met the eyes of the God of Death. There was a very sudden change in the atmosphere, one where he stared down at the small girl with a confused.

"Your not human."

If Kaji wasn't already frozen, she could of sworn that her heart had stopped beating. So many questions ran through Kaji's head, so fast that she felt her head start to throb. What did he mean by that? Should she even believe him? He could be lying? But then again.....

Kaji was met with another blow to her stomach, being dropped to the cold ground. "Your the worst type of scum." His words echoed all throughout Kaji's mind. "Killing at a simple snap of fingers like a obedient dog and now your in some stupid classroom wasting all that talent."

He now has his back turned to Kaji. "I won't kill you though," he said, "but I do look forward to when you decide to come and kill me."

Everything was now fading, Kaji's vision filling up with darkness.

I have had this planned from the very beginning. Before I even published the prologue. Hehehehe....
But I do feel a who lot better about this chapter that the last.

Also, is Kaji a good character? I know many female characters in fanfics are dull or very straight forward and I tried my best not to do that with Kaji. Like, I wanted her to be strong, but also weak. You know? Did I do a good job at that?
