It's been nearly 13 yeas since Kaji left. 13 years. Over those many years Karma has done his best to raise Asahi in his own, and even to this day he still believes that Kaji will return. For a couple of reasons.

One being that Kaji releases books that she has written under Kaji Akabane, he knows for certain that it is her for the first series she wrote was about Korosensei and class-E. While the other, that is still going on, is about a quite man who goes on a journey to save his kingdom and what not. Asahi enjoys reading his mother's books, sometimes he will read them multiple times, seeing how it is almost as close to his mother as he will get.

And the main thing that gives Karma hope is a letter. It was about 5 or 6 years ago when the letter arrived. It was basically Kaji just apologizing a lot and said that she had to leave because of some old "family business" and that she promises that she will return, one day. She even sent quite a bit of money with it. Asahi has asked his father multiple times if he knows what this "family business" she mentioned but he always answers with some variation of "I'll tell you when your older."

Asahi is very sure that him and that little letter is what has kept his father going for so many long years.

It was a rather normal day for Asahi. Having a long day at school he was now reading on the train on his way home. The book was the latest in his mother's adventure series, this was probably about the third time he has read it. It was the book right before the final, which is supposed to be coming out soon. Which Asahi hopes is soon seeing how this one ends on such a cliffhanger.

As the train stopped, Asahi removed his eyes from the pages and gathered his things. The platform was a lot busier than it normally is at this hour. As he pushed his way through something caught his eye. Or someone at that. He saw a tall lean women with long scarlet hair that ran all the way down her back, he only saw her face for a moment, but it made his heart stop for a single moment.

Asahi could of sworn that women looked like his mother.

In a shocked state he stopped right in his tracks. He gazed around for her, but alas she had disappeared.

As the platform cleared, Asahi still stood right in the middle, still gazing around for her. Still dazed, he began to make his track home.

The more he though about the more Asahi began to question himself. Maybe he was just getting desperate. Or he was also tired from school, his eyes could of easily been playing tricks on him. However, Asahi had spent many years staring at her picture, and he knew what he saw.

Could it really have been her?

Karma normally gets home about an hour or so after Asahi, and all he could think about was talking to his father about her. He found himself rather restless as he waited, his amber eyes kept on going back to the picture.

When Karma finally did arrive he looked tired, and Asahi was almost hesitant to ask him.

"So how was your day?" Asahi asked as he followed his father around, thinking it was the best approach to start simple, Karma was busy putting his things away. "Fine," Karma replied, "how was school?"

"Fine, as well." Asahi paused for a moment to piece together his words. "Do you think it is possible that mom could be back?"

Karma immediately stopped what he was doing and turned to face Asahi. "What makes you ask that?" He spoke slowly, with this look shining in his eyes.

"Well there was this lady I saw at the train station, who looked like her." He saw the look shining in his father's eyes. He looked happy, but also sad, as well as frustrated. Asahi wondered what was going through his mind. He could only guess that if she really was back, why wouldn't she have come straight home?

Karma seemed to push all his thoughts away and continued with putting his things away. As he walked away, Asahi couldn't help but follow him, he wanted more answers.

"So," Asahi said as he followed his father close behind. He was slightly irritated, he was hoping for some sort of better reaction than that from his father. "Will you ever tell me what this 'family business' she talked about? And why it was so important that she had to go away for nearly 13 years...." Asahi's words trailed off, he knew he had misspoken.

Karma stopped in his tracks, causing Asahi to bump into him. "How old are you again?" His tone suggested that he was trying to lighten the mood a bit but the look in his eyes said otherwise.

"14," Asahi replied. Karma paused for a moment before he spoke, he then turned to face Asahi. "You know those books about Korosensei and class-E are based on a true story?" Asahi nodded. "And you and mom both lived through it."

"Do you remember how one of the characters was the daughter of a German mafia leader?" It took Asahi a moment to realize what he meant, he found himself staring at his father in amazement. "So that character, is basically her?" Karma simply nodded. Asahi found himself thinking back to some of the things that character had done in the books, and how his mother had done the same.

"So that family business..?"

"She thought after all of those years she had outrun her family heritage, especially after you were born. I remember that I had never seen her so happy" Karma patted Asahi's shoulder, "Don't let the things she did in the past change your view of her. She was a great person." There was a short pause, "and I know there is no way she would of gone unless she absolutely had too." He then left, leaving Asahi alone with his thoughts.
