Tyler sighed,
"Josh?"
"Yeah Tyler?"
"Why'd you let me kiss you?"
"Because I was okay with you kissing me," Josh joked at Tyler.
"But Josh?"
"Yes?"
"The first time you really talked to me was yesterday."
"Yeah,and the first time you talked to me was yesterday. And you were the one to kiss me."
Tyler stopped to think how to respond,
"But I-"
"Tyler," Josh looked at him, "You don't need to defend yourself, I told you, I'm okay with it."
Josh sat for a moment then looked back at Tyler,
"Is it my turn to ask you something?"
"I guess so."
"Do you only think you um wait, do you like me,"
"Yeah,"
"Is that only because I saved  you?"
"No, Josh, I always noticed you. I've noticed you for a very long time."
"Oh," Josh paused, "Why?"
"Josh, you're beautiful." 
"I, um," Josh blushed, "Tyler, God, um."
"Sorry Josh, damn I'm stupid. Sorry, that was abrupt."
Josh giggled,
"Awe, it's okay. It's cute."

Josh yawned, Tyler thought that was cute to.

"Josh?"
"Uh huh?"
"Can you close the blinds?"
"Sure,"

Josh got up and closed the window, just as the clouds cleared.

"The sun hurts your head?"
"Yeah, the concussion I guess."
"Awe,I forgot."
"Haha,dont worry about it."

Josh sat, looking at Tyler,
"Hey, I'm pretty hungry, you sure you don't want anything.,
"If they are serving desert this early I'll have a slice of cake,"
Josh laughed
"Okay Tyler, I'll get you some cake."
"Thanks, you're sweet."

Josh went down to the cafeteria, he took the stairs. Josh didn't know what he, himself would eat, so he got a chocolate and vanilla cake, whichever one Tyler didn't want he would eat.

Josh walked back into Tylers room,
"Hey Tyler, I wasn't sure what kind of cake you would like, which one would you like?"
"I'll have chocolate, unless you want it?"
"No, no its all good, you have it."
Josh handed Tyler the cake and took his,
"Crap, I only got one fork,"
Josh sighed, "I'll go get another,"
"No, Josh we can make it work," Tyler said, "come sit next to me."
Tyler took the fork off of the tray Josh brought the food up on, he took a bit of Josh's cake and lifted it up to neer his mouth,
"Open!" Tyler joked, Josh opened his mouth, giggling. Tyler manoovered the fork into Josh's mouth. Josh chewed, giggling at Tyler,
"Stop laughing, you'll choke to death, then I'd be very sad."
Josh finished his mouthful,
"I'm fine, I won't choke, just for you," Josh joked.
Josh took the fork from Tylers hand,
"Heyyy I'm feeding you." Tyler whined,
"Then I should feed you to,"
Josh dug into the chocolate cake, Tyler opened his mouth so wide he scrunched up his eyes.
"Wow Tyler, that's really attractive," Josh said sarcastically.
"Gimme that cake!" Tyler giggled. Josh backed up the cake before Tyler could bite it, and stuffed the cake in his mouth, giggling crazily.
"Haha, sorry Tyler, good cake though, here," Josh said finally giving Tyler a bite of cake.
"Well now it's only fair if I get some of your cake,"
"Okay, fine. Only because you're really cute when you smile."
Josh took a big bunch of cake onto the fork and shovelled it into Tylers mouth,
"Geez Josh," Tyler said through his munching, "You could have give me a little less."
Josh laughed.
They continued feeding each other cake, and sneaking bites of each others, laughing and talking.

A little later nurse knocked on the door,
"Mister Joseph, it's time for your medication."
"Is it still a needle?"
"Yes Tyler. That's how this pain killer is given."
Josh looked at Tyler,
"I, um I'll wait in the hall,"
"Josh,youre allowed to stay,"
"I know, I just really hate needles,"
"But Josh, Josh I really don't wanna do this alone, please stay?"
"Oh God, okay. But I wont look,"
"Okay Mister Joseph, when ever you're ready," The nurse waited.
"Josh, could you hold my hand?"
Josh did.
Tyler nodded to the nurse,
Tylers hand squeezed Josh's palms as the needle pierced his skin. Josh looked away, feeling a little nauseated at the sight.
Tyler could feel the cold liquid flowing through him, he hated it, then the metal needle pulled out from his skin, the nurse dabbed his arm with a cotton ball and put on a bandaid,
"Are you two alright?"
"Um, yeah," Tyler said, "Josh you okay?"
"Oh. Uh yup, I'm fine," Josh said, a little paler than usual.
"Okay, Tyler I'll be back with your lunch soon,"
"Oh, okay thanks Miss," Tyler said.

In a couple minutes she returned with grapes, a sandwich and apple juice, then left to deliver other lunches.
"Geez, I'm not even hungry, I'll eat the grapes and sandwich, you want the juice?" Tyler complained.
"Sure," Josh said, grabbing the juice and sipping it from the straw.

"Josh?" Tyler said, popping a grape into his mouth, "Shouldn't you be in school?"
"Nah, your mom got all my school work, its in your room acctually."
"Oh,okay. Cool," Tyler said.

Josh finished the juice and put the cup back onto the table beside Tyler.
"Wow, what the hell, I shouldnt be impressed but you drank that extremely fast."
"Tyler, I drink at a regular pace."
"What ever you say speedy," Tyler said, "Okay I promise that sounded cooler in my head."
Josh laughed,
"Sure it did,"

Tyler finished his lunch and the nurse took it away.

"Hey Ty?"
"First of all, don't call me Ty, second of all, yeah?"
"What are we?"
"Friends?"
"Who kiss, and do each others nails, and feed each other, and hold hands."
"We arnt technically dating, we havent been out,"
"We're smooch friends,"
"I really don't think that's a thing,"
"Well, I do." Josh laughed, "And when you get out of this hospital I'll take you out on a date,"
"promise?"
"I promise,"
Tyler smiled and kissed Josh.

//Later//

A different nurse brought Tyler a burger and mashed potatoes,
"geez don't they know the type of potatoes that goes with a burger is fries?"
"Tyler, there will be a time when you come to accept all potatoes," Josh laughed at his own weird joke.
"Yeah yeah,"
Josh's stomach growled,
"Josh, are you starving to death?"
"Tyler I'm fine," before Josh said that Tyler pushed a button that told a nurse he was likely dying.
"Mister Joseph, are you alright?"
"Gosh," Josh whispered under his breath,
"Miss nurse, could you please get my," Tyler though about what to call Josh, "Smooch friend, a burger?"
Josh laughed, and the nurse looked at him, a little scared, but then she also laughed.
"I'm only supposed to get food for patients,"
"But, I want him to stay, please?"
"Oh alright, but this definitely will not become a regular thing."

She returned minutes later with Josh's dinner, and Tyler and Josh sat and ate while chatting.

Later, after the nurse had cleared the plates Tyler was getting tired, he definitely was not getting enough sleep, and that was apparent to Josh.

Josh sat next to Tyler on his bed, Tyler laid his head onto Josh's shoulder and closed his eyes, he didn't sleep though, him and Josh talked about random things, anything that could come to two teenagers minds.

Eventually Tyler lifted his head off of Joshs shoulder,
"Can I kiss you?"
"Tyler, you don't need to ask,"
"Is that a yes?"
"Definitely."
Tyler leaned up a little, so that his lips would meet Josh's, they didn't hear the door open,
"Tyler?"
Even Josh knew the voice,
"Um, hi mom," Tyler instantly became defencive, "I- um, it-it's not what it looks like,"
"Tyler, Josh," Tylers mom said, "Its alright."
Josh forced out a laugh,
"You arnt mad you just came in to me kissing your son?"
"Josh, you seem like a trustworthy boy, and Tyler talks about you enough. I pretty much figured this would happen,"
Josh turned red,
"Oh, um thanks then, I guess."
They laughed and eventually had to reluctantly say goodbye to Tyler.

Tyler sat in the room, he looked around, he had turned off his lamp after Josh and his mother left. He couldnt see anything, and it was deathly silent, soon the darkness closed around Tyler and he was forced to surrender to the army of sleep.
