I wish, that instead of just either telling me to stop singing or complementing my voice, people would really listen to the lyrics I sing. I don't ever just sing a song for no reason.
For example, if I'm singing Invisible by Taylor Swift, I'm probably feeling really friendzoned. (Which happens quite often)
Or Migraine by twenty øne piløts usually means I'm locked inside my thoughts and I need out.
Or even A Place in this World by Taylor Swift. That means I'm probably feeling alone and like I don't belong. It usually means I need someone to understand because I'm just trying to find my place.
Listen to the lyrics. They speak all the words I fail to say. It may not seem like it, but I've got other feelings besides happy. There's depths to everyone that they choose how to cope with. I just happen to choose singing as my coping mechanism because music is a form of escape. So listen, because lyrics are more than just words on a page.
