Kaysia

"So, anak.. How is your Tita Gigi doing?" Mommy asked. Tita Gigi is her relative. "Alright. Still a workaholic." I commented. "Figured." Daddy laughed.

"Kira, angel.. Eat your food first, mamaya mo na kulitin si Tito Kayden mo." Suway ko sa anak ko. It seems like she's very fond of her uncle. She never left his side. "Anyway, where is Kayleigh?" I asked. Kayleigh is our youngest sister. She's 16. I'm the oldest. Kayden being the second and only son of the family, he's a year younger than me and is currently 22. Ako naman ay 23 lamang.

Mom laughingly rolled her eyes. "As usual, late nanaman ang kapatid mo. She went over to Alessa's house earlier today, though she said she'll be attending our dinner." Mom told me. And at that moment, the door opened and a grown up Kayleigh appeared.

"Hi! Uh, sorry.. I'm..you know, late.." Paumanhin nya.

"Kayleigh!" I beamed. "Ate! Welcome home!" She greeted with a hug. It's been so long, last time I've seen her, 10 palang sya.. "There you are, Kayleigh! So nice for you to join us." My mom jokingly said. Kayleigh softly groaned. "Oh mama.. I tried to go as fast as I could, alright? Natagalan lang talaga ang project namin ni Les." She reasoned at naupo sa tabi ni Kayden. "Project? Or partying?" Daddy eyed her. "Dad! Gumawa lang kami ng project, okay?" Kayleigh said in defense.

"Tama na yan, you two." Suway ni mommy. "Let's just eat dinner, yea?" Mom grinned at me.

"Is that your kid?" Kayleigh pointed at Kira. "Yes. Her name is Kira." Sagot ni Kayden. "She looks just like you.. Except for.. You know? Her eyes." My amber eyed sister commented. "Yea.." Mahinang sagot ko as I looked at my daughter. She has her father's wonderful eyes. "Must be from her daddy, hm?" Dad asked.

"Daddy? What about my daddy?" I flinched sa tanong ni Kira. "Nothing, baby. Papa just said your eyes are pretty." I smiled at Kira. "Oh, okay." She giggled at bumalik sa pakikipaglaro kay Kayden on his iPad. "I like this one. It's a cute watermelon." Kira commented and pointed on the iPad screen.

"So, Kaysia.. Does Kira know about her dad?" Tanong ni Daddy. Pinanlakihan ko sya ng mata. "Dad.." I hissed softly, being careful not to be heard by Kira. "Have you told her who her daddy is?"

"No, daddy! I didn't. And I never will!"

"Oh, just like how you kept him hidden from all of us?"

"Dad, stop that. Kakadating lang ni Ate oh?" Kalmadong pagsuway ni Kayleigh kay daddy. "I'm not trying to do anything, Kayleigh. I just want to know." Depensa naman ni Daddy. "Yea but like.. No. Ate clearly doesn't want to talk about it. At least not right now." Sagot ni Kayleigh. I nodded in agreement. If they can't know who Kira's father is, then Kira can't either. Besides, she doesn't need him. I know she never had any fatherly figure to look up to since I've never had any boyfriends back in London, but she doesn't need any, does she? Kira is fine with me. With all of us, now that she've finally met my family.

"Alright, alright. I'm just curious, okay?" Daddy sulkily said. "I know you are, dad. But Kira's father is not important anymore." I sighed. I knew it would always come to this topic sooner or later anyway.. Still, I wouldn't name him. Not ever.

It looks unrecognizable. The posters of the bands I used to love nung mga teenage days ko pa were torn off of my walls. The pictures and collages I made were also gone. Ah,my teenage years. I was one hell of a rebel back then. Now my room looks just like a normal guest room of this house. I don't mind though. Ako na ngayon si Asia Liro. Kaysia's been dead ever since I stepped a foot inside that airplane going off to London 6 years ago. Nagbago na ako. For the better, of course.
